4.0 out of 5 stars Little Miss Sophie does it again
The single, "Music gets the best of me" is very much in the same vein as Sophie Ellis-Bextor's material from her "Read My Lips" album - catchy, light and cheerfully bubbly. Being a big fan of hers, I would say that anyone who enjoyed her previous singles will appreciate this latest release. Just the kind of happy music that'll cheer you up if you're down, and also a great...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not her Best actually...
Despite dull indie wannabes theaudience, it took Spillers summer anthem Groovejet (If This Aint Love) for Sophie Ellis Bextor to escape her mothers shadow. Hot on the heels of beating Posh spice to No. 1, she cashed in with a dance-pop solo debut album, Read My Lips. Granted it spawned a few catchy hits, but with...

Granted it spawned a few catchy hits, but with Music Gets the Best of Me (a song telling a man not to be jealous that she prefers music, My first loves going strong) one cant help thinking Miss Bextors scraping the barrel a bit. Admittedly the chorus does grow on you slightly, but soon starts to grate and being dragged out to a 6-minute Flip n Fill-er trance remix just aggravates the problem, although otherwise it probably improves on the slightly bland original version. Final song, Is It Any Wonder (Jays Bluesix Radio Edit) is more laidback, and almost instantly forgettable. Lacking even a memorable chorus, one cant help thinking its only included on the single to show you can get worse than the A-side. If this gets the best of Miss Bextor, I feel sorry for the poor man in question...
