Live at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, it is a typical Michael Ball Concert. And unfortunately, as is often the case, the band is so loud that Michael is drowned out at times, or sounds fuzzy. Also, there were times when it would have been important to see his face such as in 'Just One Look' but the director was filming everything but. So it lost a star for presentation.
However, Michael's own performance is as professionally excellent as it always is; he is charming, tireless, funny and he clearly appreciated the loyalty and support of his fans - and of course (when it's not drowned) that oh, so fabulous voice. There are also interesting bits of interview with him explaining why he picked the songs.
* This recording stands apart, though, because at the end, there are four tracks where he is informally rehearsing/singing with a trio. His voice, 'undrowned' by excessive backing, really is astonishing and I very much enjoyed these tracks - it was worth buying the DVD just for these.

As a huge fan of Michael Ball, I am probably biased, but this is a fantastic dvd with loads of songs from the shows, sung by michael with his unique style. There are also some cleverly done re-arrangements of songs including "last night of the world", which is usually a duet, but Michael very successfully turns this into a solo. Well worth watching, and an absolute MUST for any Michael Ball fan.
