My most loved film of all time
If theres ever been a film to include such beautiful artwork, enchanting script and music, then Beauty and the Beast fills that catergory. Its been the only film i've ever cried to, simply because of the breathtaking impact it has on you. Its not just the storyline thats compelling, its the way its put on film, and put across. And of course, it proves that loving someone...

What have they done to the colours?!
My sister still has the original 1992 video and it is by far superior. Whoever was responsible for the colours on this version should have lost their job - they are not the original colours from the film. Maurice's eyes have been coloured green instead of black, the west wing has been brightened so much it is no longer mysterious and I HATE IT when they put sequences that...

Not to be missed. This is, without a doubt, one of the finest productions of our time..

Disney animation at it's greatest!, 16 Dec 2002
Originally, I bought the movie when it was first released. But due to neglect it was ruined by the Video recorder.. it has since been punished... Therefore, I jumped at the chance to own it again when it was re released. And it has never lost any of it's magic. A truly wonderful piece of animation.

If I have to watch this one more time!, 27 Feb 2003
This is a great kids film, but TOO great as we have had it on every day since we bought it! My daughter is two and a half, and every day she demands 'Beast Beast Beast'! She has not watched any other video or cartoon since we got it, so its just as well that I like to watch it too. It is a great show with memorable songs and good characters. I live Belle and the fact that she loves reading, and is brave and kind - a better role model for children than some other Disney dames.

Best Disney film ever, 13 Aug 2003
This is one of the best Disney films I have seen. My 3 year old loves it and watches it over and over again - so do I! The characters, the story and the music are magical. I still get a lump in my throat up at the end every time we watch it. Great film for both adults and kids.

Maurice's eyes have been coloured green instead of black, the west wing has been brightened so much it is no longer mysterious and I HATE IT when they put sequences that weren't in the film in the movie, as they did with 'Human Again' This is NOT the film I saw! This scene should have been an extra. They did the same with The Lion King. Thank God The Little Mermaid wasn't messed about with. Restorations should simply preserve what was in the original release, not mess about with it like this. A great shame as it is a fabulous film. I wonder if the 2-disc red box set was better?

*I* want adventure in the great wide somewhere!, 3 Dec 2008
This is easily the greatest disney film every.
1) the songs are awesome. "Gaston" had me chuckling away.
2) the animation, especially in the snow and the forests, is just amazing
3) you can read as much depth as you want into the story.
Unlike virtually every other fairy tale, especially disney stories, belle isn't a princess. She's not even all that poor. She's a middle class girl in a rural environment. And the thing that she likes most in the world? Reading. how awesome is that? she doesn't just fall in love with the main guy in town, she goes for the guy with the biggest library. Similarly, the one who really learns his lesson is the beast, for being mean to that old woman, who was in fact a witch. So the aristocrat was brought down for his lack of deference and re-educated in the ways of polite society by a woman from the lower orders. Ace.
4)It's got Jerry Orbach from Law and Order as Lumiere!
This is not one of those films that you thought was great but watch again and it stinks. The pace is good, the songs keep the whole thing moving. I was uncertain about ordering this but I did and it made my day!
