I lost a lens cap while taking pictures out in the countryside recently and I was pleased to see that you can get genuine Nikon replacements at a reasonable price. I initially ordered 2 as you can't be without these - but having got the items, I may well invest in some more, as they are such useful things!

I like the way you can clip them on with one hand - on my Pentaxes it can often be quite fiddly. This is such a neat and classic design, it can't be faulted. A Nikon isn't complete without one! As people have mentioned - nothing more need be said, this is the "real thing".

I liked this lens cap in particular because of its blackness. And the artful contrast between the inkiness of the matt finish and the silvery shine of the word Nikon. And I like the way it fits my lens.

Lenses for DSLRs are at risk from scratching even when a filter has been added and when the lens cap supplied with the camera is misplaced, it gives great confidence to know a new identical one can be found and purchased really quickly.

What can I say? It is a Nikon lens cap. Quality product. Small price, gives great confidence.

A good cap that fits tightly, but I seem to lose one or two of these now and again, when they fall out of my bag, so I always replace them. Vital in order to keep your delicate and expensive optics clean, both on and off the camera. Plenty of Hong Kong counterfeits available at much reduced cost, but they are never as good. Buy Nikon-you know it makes sense! It's an essential item, so carry a spare. The countryside must be peppered with these things now.

If you lose one of these then as expensive as they are, you're going to need another one. It's cheaper than replacing your entire lens when it gets scratched to death from being unprotected in your bag!

These are also good for replacing the old style Sigma lens caps if you have them as the old style Sigma lens caps are near impossible to get on or off with a lens hood fitted. These are much better!

How can anyone do without these? Our equipment is so important not to damage and these little things are great to have as a few spares just in case. In my case I did indeed keep losing them but thankfully now I have a squirrel store for the D5000 and so far so good: best to have them, than not!

Pleased to find a lens cap of good quality available to purchase on here. I lost my original lens cap on holiday somewhere and have had a few replacements, none as good the original. But this one is really good, fits perfectly well on my lenses.
