5.0 out of 5 stars It is nice.
This is a good filter and at the price, you cannot go wrong. It does what it purpots to do nicely and the build quality is good. I know there are other high quality Hoya filters, but if you are like me, who has a reasonable cap on the price of filters, this is the best. It screws well to my 18 - 55mm Canon IS Lens as well as the tele lens 55 - 250mm Canon IS Lens.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a Pro-1 filter as shown
This is a standard Hoya 58mm CPL filter, NOT a Pro-1 as shown in the photograph. This wasn't really a surprise at the price of 14.50 and the filter itself is perfectly good, but the item really should correspond to the photo, hence the 3 stars.

I was having problems with over exposure and not enough colour saturation. I know Hoya is a by-word for quality in filters and I am not disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too stiff for Canon EF-S lens, 1 Jan 2013

Although this lens works as expected, when fitted to a Canon EOS 1100D with standard EF-S 18-55mm lens there is a problem. The lens manual focus is very light/easy to turn, but this filter is a little stiffer. So rotating the filter just alters the focus. Setting the lens to auto focus is a partial workaround as this locks the lens.

On a lens with pump/slide action focus this may not be a problem.

A second problem is that the front recess on the filter is not deep enough to hold the Canon lens cap on.

Good quality for the price. Bought to replace my square filters. Build quality is good and no impact in picture quality. No problems attaching to the lens. Have used polarizing filters for a while now and am pleased with the results from this filter.
