4.0 out of 5 stars Robert Hood at its best, 4 Jun. 2003

Anyone that has witnessed Rob play, or just likes his style should have this albumn. It leaps staight in from the very start with that infectious techno rhythm and builds on it over the first half of the CD. The second half brings the pace down slightly with a more minimalistic approach, but still has that disctinctive Hood sound. A star buy for anone who enjoys full flavoured techno beats.

5.0 out of 5 stars Robert Hood the true master in techno!, 17 May 2010
This review is from: Point Blank (Audio CD)
Robert Hood's fifth album is a very interesting, and for most tracks, quite a forward thinking techno album. Music that may request repeated and more careful listening to properly appreciate it's depth and direction across its minimal hard techno that's more moody & raw rather then friendly dance orientated, and its si-fi spacey tranquil funky techno, with some tracks also sitting in between hard & spacey, and even a couple of quieter ambient tracks. You do get a little taste of everything here. This is minimal UR like Detroit techno at its heart, but with a direction that will please the mind, the body, and the soul. Point Blank certainly has depth that transcends most minimal-techno albums (even on the harder tracks)thanks to Robert's ability and skill creating interesting sounds in techno minimalism bringing a rawness, tranquillity, funk with soul, and ambient to excellent effect that only a few other minimal-techno artist accomplish.

A classic album ? Could be!
