5.0 out of 5 stars Strong Sophomore Effort From Rebecca Lynn!!!, 5 Sep 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Forgive [European Import] (Audio CD)
Rebecca Lynn is well known for her songwriting skills aswell as her powerful voice. Both are used perfectly on this little gem.
This album includes a great selection of pop/country tunes including the catchy uptempos When Did You Ever Listen To Me,Memorized,Pink Flamingo Kind Of Love and Life Had Other Plans. There's also the big ballad and title track Forgive, she really belts this one out perfectly (but without oversinging).
Although thankfully she does dip her toes into a more traditional country sound with songs like Jesus And Bartenders,It Didn't Look Like Alcohol both are great hurtin' songs and the toe tapping uptempo Dancin' In God's Country. It's these songs where Rebecca really gets to shine as her voice is pure country.
She wraps up the album with her Grammy winning performance of the gospel song Softly And Tenderly, which is just beautiful. Her voice is just stunning on this and a great way to finish the cd.
Rebecca has such a fantastic tone to her voice,it's kind of a mixture of a bit of Patty Loveless,a little Carrie Underwood and a little Trisha Yearwood.
All in all a fantastic album that you simply can't go wrong with.Highly recommeded. You won't be disappointed......

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning voice, Stunning album, 31 Jan 2011
This review is from: Forgive [European Import] (Audio CD)
I am a recent fan of RLH having only heard a couple of songs previously. So after listening to a few more I decided to get this.
And Im so glad I did. She has an incredible voice along the lines of Tina Arena, Rachel Proctor plus any other female singers you can think of that make the hairs on the back of your neck stick up. Her country ideas show through and steep the album in luscious guitars and melodies. But the album also has a radio slant that is friendly on the ears. Not strictly a country album full of country songs but you can easily tell where its roots are from.

Standout tracks "Beautiful to you, Didnt look like alcohol, Forgive (amazing!!!), Memorized"... but really they are all spectacular... no need for the skip button.

Country music brought into the mainstream which many country artists dont achieve. This one does.

Her self titled album is also on a par with this... go check it out.
