5.0 out of 5 stars A Stunning Sequel
Why do I like this game? Because I am a hardcore tycoon gamer. If you're not, then don't bother buying this game. You need to to fifty things at once- from juggling flight routes and advitising them, to sabotaging and protecting yourself form being sabgotage. I like the plane building feature- I have never seen a tripple decker plane before...

2.0 out of 5 stars Spot the difference?, 13 Nov. 2005
This review is from: Airline Tycoon Evolution (Video Game)
The addictiveness of this game is quite good but when your airline becomes big enough to satisfy routes, you begin to experience economies of scale and can quickly buy over all your competitors, liquidising all their assets gives you working capital beyond British Airways'!
The new features are nice but the plane builder is weak, the planes offered through the dealer are more efficient and have further range. The security centre - whether good or bad - puts an end to sabotage.
Frustratingly there are still no new entrants to compete with which are displayed in other tycoon games like transport tycoon etc so the competition is limited. There is little attention payed to economic laws of supply and demand and the threats to an international business go beyond how nice your planes are. Basically, get a good route (London to Tokyo) pump money into advertising, gradually improve your planes and you can double your prices...pretty basic.
If you have the original Airline Tycoon try this and see if you can see the difference, it's so similar i was sure i'd bought the same game.
Must try harder.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth Buying, 3 July 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Airline Tycoon Evolution (Video Game)
Any one who has played the original will know that its an addictive game, this new eddition has more new scenarios allong with several new features, all of which make the game even more addictive. The only down side to the game is the character speach. With some of the charecters having had their voices changed from the orriginal, some of the charecters even switch between their orriginal voice and the new one mid sentance. This gives the impression that the putting together of this game was rushed!
overall if you enjoyed the original its worth buying

A great game, but quite hard work. You have to keep getting new orders which is time consuming, and you only work from 9-6. It can be hard to remember to do everything in one day!

2.0 out of 5 stars My God what a disappointment!, 20 Sept. 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Airline Tycoon Evolution (Video Game)
Well it all happened about three years ago? I saw this game that looked so cool! No really, the first one did and it said 69% as the verdict! But times they are a changing. Now rather than make an outright sequel they've just made this happy little trek longer. While the cartoony graphics are nice, they soon become annoying, as your laptop breaks, and the sound problems are just absurd! What age are we in? When I say switches voice mid-sentence, I mean mid-sentence. It's not even varied. Your mission should you choose to accept it is to make more and more money. Simple enough, but there really ought to be more to this shouldn't there? Designs? Maintenance? Well if your idea of fun is running around the (quite nice) airport just to get a flight (which incidentally can be done in one day for a week), you'll enjoy this, otherwise steer well clear, till it appears in budget games...
