This review is from: So You Want To Be A Rock 'n' Roll Star? [DVD] [2003] (DVD)
This DVD features 24 full length clips from German television between 1967-1972. The majority of these clips are good quality black and white though a handful are in full colour and sound quality is good. Between each track there is a news item from the period also in full colour. Whilst most of the acts are lip-synch there are some live performances. For me the highlights both in rarity value and for picture quality are;
1) Canned Heat - Lets work together (incredible colour footage of a live performance)
2) The Hollies - I can't let go (another live performance on stage in black and white)
3) Cream - Strange Brew (lip synch,black and white)
4) Traffic - Here we go round the mulberry bush(good quality black and white)
5) Who - Pictures of Lily (full length version of clip featured in "The kids are alright" film)
6) Spencer Davis Group - Keep on running(rare footage though picture quality is not quite as good as other tracks)
Thoroughly enjoyable and essential viewing for any 1960s music fan!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some great performances, both live & mimed, 11 Mar. 2015

Some great performances, both live & mimed, from German TV. The occasional intrusion of musician credits during the performances is distracting, to say the least! As were some of the "arty" back-drop psychedelic doodlings. But the music is wonderful.
