What's The Story.
Pinhead makes another unwelcome return after the puzzle box is once again solved & the forces of Hell are set to be unleashed on Earth.

Kirsty Cotton, the only one to ever defeat Pinhead, returns to do battle with her former nemesis to save the world from this ultimate evil, but at what cost?

Timelord Thoughts.
Hellraiser: Hellseeker is the sixth film in the Hellraiser series as director Rick Bota returns to Clive Barker's original story for inspiration & tries to connect writer's Carl V. Dupré & Tim Day script with his vision in linking this film to the first two Hellraiser movies & the overall result is a half decent straight to DVD sequel that contains a few gory sequences despite the odd dodgy special effect.

Director Rick Bota sets the tone throughout this sequel as a dark disturbing psychological mystery & adds some great surreal moments in Trevors dream sequences & creates quite a chilling atmosphere in places, while once again actor Doug Bradley returns as Pinhead who gives another sinister chilling magnetic performance who now knows his character inside out & it's a shame Bradley wasn't given more screen time but then again he didn't appear that much in the original so when he does make an appearance it's well worth the wait.

Ashley Lawrence's reprises her role from Hellraiser 1 & 2 as Kirsty Cotton & while some fan's maybe disappointed in the small amount of screen time she actually receives all will become clear as to why in the movies clever final twist.

Dean Winters plays Kirstys husband Trevor Gooden who isn't quite the nice guy he appears to be as his true personality starts to show as he begins to experience horrific nightmares & disturbing visions.

Overall Hellraiser: Hellseeker is probably the best of the straight to DVD sequels & worth a look & it returns the franchise back to a more surreal & darker tone, theres a few minor flaws to the movie like the unconvincing special effect of the Detective who grows a second head in revealing his split personality looks very poor indeed & looks unrealistic, while the characters of Pinhead & Kirsty do deserve to have far more screen time than they get in this film & the movies production could've used a bigger budget to do the films ambitious script justice which may have instead delivered a truly great sequel instead of a half decent one.

Timelord Rating.
6/10

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok film, not a good sequel, 12 Jan 2014

If you threw together Hellraiser and Jacob's Ladder then Hellseeker is the result, unfortunately this is not as good as either of those two films, although it's not a bad film, compared to some of the other sequels at any rate!

Unfortunately as well the description for the film kind of gives the game away, which seems a little odd. The basic premise is that Kirsty's husband has survived a crash which kills his wife, he tries to get on with his life but is plagued by terrible visions. He's also plagued by lovely women throwing themselves at him. At first I thought it was simply a blatant act to add some sex to the film, but after the reveal it does make a kind of sense.

There's a detective trying to get to the truth of what happened in the crash (Kirsty's body has not been found) as well as a strangely behaving co-worker. The story comes together in bits and pieces, it doesn't really stand out as something special, although it's not terrible either.

The real problem is that it doesn't feel like a Hellraiser film (considering some of the sequels I can see why - although the first two are excellent horror films), you get some flashes of Pinhead and the other cenobites and it all does become clear by the end, so it does fit, but doesn't quite work.

It feels like this is an attempt to fit the Hellraiser mythos into a more cerebral horror and it's a fair attempt, the issue for me is that it doesn't sit well with the more visceral nature of Pinhead and his companions. It might have been better to have made this as a stand alone film, rather than a Hellraiser sequel, but it is what it is and what we have is an ok film that doesn't really build on the mythos.

3.0 out of 5 stars "Welcome to Shutter Island, Mr Angelheart", said Pinhead, 19 Nov 2010

Firstly, I have to admit that I honestly thought that the Hellraiser series had died off with a bit of a whimper after Hellraiser V, so was delighted to find out that they had made an additional three movies that I had missed out on somehow. So, sitting down with a bag off chocolate peanuts and a litre of Diet coke (yeah, one wipes out the other) I got ready to enjoy a much needed and long awaited Pinhead fix, anticipating a forthcoming Cenobite slaughter of the not quite so innocent box openers searching for the ultimate pleasure/pain experience that they could not find in reality.

The movie basically takes up the story of Trevor (played by Dean Winters) after he survives a crash with his girlfriend Kirsty (Yes the very same Ashley Laurence from the early Hellraiser films). However, he soon begins to doubt his own sanity when he starts to see missing memory sequences and visions that make little sense to him. And when the Police start to question him about the lack of Kirsty's corpse - which was missing from the car when dragged from the river - the finger of suspicion begins to point at himself. Is he dreaming, insane or something far worse ?

My own issues with this movie are basically that pretty much from the start you can guess what has happened to Trevor from the choppy flashback sequences, so the ending is really not that much of a surprise - though Kirsty's revelation of her talk with Pinhead (Doug Bradley) was a good twist in my opinion, and secondly the movie could have had the same story and outcome with or without the Hellraiser connection. Anyone who has seen Angelheart or Shutter Island will see end of this film coming a mile off.

There is not a huge amount of Cenobite `ouch' moments of earlier movies, no gore fest, no flesh ripping and nothing that has not been done or seen before. Think predictable, mediocre sequel and you won't be far wrong. Certainly not the best of the series (Hellbound my own favourite). However, it is certainly worth a watch (if only for Kirsty's revelation at the end), but a movie that will probably need to be dusted regularly when you clean the movie shelf !

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst in the series!, 13 July 2009
This review is from: Hellraiser 6: Hellseeker [DVD] [2002] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] (DVD)
This could have been done so much better, they had the right plot development but it failed. The director has ruined the franchise with this garbage.See it for the sake of seeing the series other than that just miss it as it's a waste of an hour and a half.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the Best!, 14 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a poor version of Hellraiser Inferno for me.
As usual with the later Movies there is a complete lack of Cenobite action apart from a couple of scenes. I will be in no hurry to play this DVD again any time soon.
Unfortunately i had to get all of these Movies because i have become sort of obsessed by the idea of demons coming from hell to terrorize people on Earth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hellrasier...Again, 10 Jun 2013
Well, at least the Dvd cover might be worth five stars even if the film seems to be rubbish and too quickly put together.

These filmmakers must really come up with something different, rather then something like this story which died along time ago after the first three films. It all seems to be a waste of time and money for those of us who to see these producers to come up new ideas.

As with all Hellraiser movies they are terrible and this was no different. Die hard fans will love this gore fest. Worth a watch if you are looking for a gruesome blood fest with a limited story line.

1.0 out of 5 stars From Hell To Agony, 14 Jan 2013
It's easily the worst in the franchise and very tiresome barely anything happens in this movie, this movie happens to have been set into a format of a very boring sci-fi thriller where there's a guy who works at an office starts screwing around with his boss and cheating with his would be girlfriend only to have her trade her soul for his has she somewhere in the storyline found the lament box - overall terrible cast, awful script avoid at all cost

Hellseeker is the sixth instalment in the Hellraiser series, even though these movies were made on a lower budget compared to the first four movie they still add allot of depth and use cool mythology from the Hellraiser franchise to keep the stories interesting, Hellseeker personally I think this is one of the better sequels, the story is very good and goes back to the roots with a starring appearance from Ashley Laurence who plays Kirsty in both the original and Hellseeker, she has some very good sequences of dialogue when she approaches pinhead again for a second time and has a few tricks up her sleeve, For a fan I think this is a good movie and you will deeply get something from it, the screen time for Cenobites is rather low but its worth checking out.
