5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!!
I've been an Aerosmith fan since the early 90's and thought that the best fans could expect was greatest hits albums from the Geffen era (Big Ones) and from the columbia era(s) (Aerosmith's Greatest Hits 1973-1988). However, this album is a compilation of Aerosmith's finest tunes (with 2 great new tracks or 3 on the limited edition version) - Oh yeah, this truly is the...

Energetic and fun rock'n'roll. Again. I can not count the number of compilation cd's this group has released. Next time please give us some new songs instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ULTIMATE collection, 16 Aug 2002

This review is from: O Yeah! Ultimate Hits (Audio CD)
When "Young Lust: The Aerosmith Anthology" came out a few months ago, fans were disappointed that it lacked much of the band's newer material, as it only contained songs recorded for Geffen Records. "O Yeah" offers a selection of all of Aerosmith's tracks throughout the years, and is a must have for any fan - particularly the newer fans who want to sample the older tracks without buying every Aerosmith album (considering there are well over fifteen, this is no easy task).
As far as newer material goes, this album has only five songs from the last two albums - just two from the last album, "Just Push Play". Sadly missing is the fantastic power ballad "Fly Away From Here" which, if there was any justice in the world, should have become the next "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing".
You'll find all the classics on this double cd set, including the notorious "Dude Looks Like A Lady" and "Love In An Elevator", as well as their number one hit "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" from hit movie Armageddon (starring lead singer Steve Tyler's much less talented daughter Liv Tyler). Your CD collection would be incomplete without it.
If you wish to expand your Aerosmith collection further, these CDs are also recommended:
Big Ones (Greatest Hits)
Nine Lives (Including Don't Wanna Miss A Thing)
Just Push Play (Jaded et al - newest songs)
Young Lust (The Geffen Years)
Rock on!
