5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Hip Hop Compilation Album In The World Ever..., 17 Dec 2004
This review is from: Rawkus Presents Soundbombing II (Audio CD)
(...and it's not called that)
You don't even have to be a massive hip-hop fan. It is perfection from start to finish; the word slick does not do it justice.
Where to start?? - The track selection is top class and underground though many of the artists are truly accomplished MC's. If you are a fan of Mos Def from the "Black on Both Sides" era then definitely consider this album. He features on a few of the tracks and in my opinion this album contains the best Mos track ever with "Next Universe".
Though the real stars of this album are J-Rocc and Babu, the mixing is seamless and the scratching is heroic. As you can see many of the tunes have intros, these consist of a minute or two of J-Rocc and Babu tearing the flip out of the beats and the vocals before dropping a track as big as the smile you'll wearing.
I really cannot recommend this album enough to anyone. Though especially if you already have stuff by Pharoahe Monch, Mos Def or Duck Season 1 or 2.

you need this album in your collection simple as that it has the best balance of artists ever on one cd and i think maybe this album catapulted a lot of artists to go and be quite succsefull in the underground scene from el-p to mos def ,pharoahe monch ,thirsten howl ,even eminem is on here and not in no lame commercial fasion more like a typical indie whit label style , every track is sick and the mixing by the bum rush brothers is sick to you need this album kop it now and it will forever be up there with the best of em my favirouite track is the, ra the rugged man [stanley kubrick ]ghetto dark as you like get this and you'll be so chuffed with this mad nice b.boy indie style collabaration

Fans of the REAL hip hop/underground scene will really like this. Not a dull track on here, superbly mixed, excellent beats.
Introduced me to quite a few names i hadn't heard of before. It shows how big Rawkus used to be. One of the best albums ive bought this year. Check it out.

Great delivery from Rawkus, I was too busy enjoying it to submit a review! Great mix of artists and good to hear Babu et al spinning some excellent beats. Great addition to the series and the best of the three!
