5.0 out of 5 stars Claude Challe Just Keeps Getting Better, 6 Jun 2002

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better - it does.
As an owner of all Buddha Bar series, all Claude Challe work, and Nirvana Lounge vol 1, plus many other works in and around this genre, I can honestly say I was blown away by Nirvana Lounge vol 2.
The flow on each disc is great, and the separation of the content for each, perfect: disk 1 - subtle, at times haunting, always interesting, never annoying; disk 2 - interesting, plenty of original ethnic percussion - definitely the party disc.
An up to date compilation with hitherto almost completely unique content: buy this one now, before 10 other labels copy parts of it and you end up with 5 or 6 CDs called Karma this, Buddha that, priced slightly less than Nirvana Lounge, whose content overlap by 50% and none completely satisfy. This one does.
This album has just overtaken Claude Challe's Sun as my favourite.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Nirvana lounge vol2' a true temple of pleasure, 27 May 2002
This review is from: Nirvana Lounge 02 (2CD) (Audio CD)
Nirvana lounge vol:2 is a great combination of the downbeat, the chill, and the down right funky. I'm not sure how Claude Challe constantly surpasses himself with every new cd that he compiles. This is a truly great mixture of world music with that eastern slant. I loved vol 1 and vol2 is just a good.
Cd1:Promenade Nirvanesque, has some great tranquil themes from 'window of dreams' by Nash Didan to 'sonhar' by Praful, it is very well mixed to form a pure blend of sounds and rhythms.
Cd2: Ethnic Lounge is a more up piece personal favourite include 'humanity' by a Guy called Gerald and 'Latin masala' by Blue Planet, my one and it is only a very mild 'not sure' is the inclusion of Faithless but I think that's just me. Claude Challe hasn't disappointed true disciples to his music, it also, as with all the 'Buddha Bar' series or 'Sun' easily accessible to all listeners who like to kick back and enjoy 2 great cd's of mind enhancing music.
From the sleeve notes 'Nirvana is born in a whirlwind of passion and excitement', quite.
It truly is a Chall' O World

After the relative disappointment of the last one in the "series"- Buddha Bar IV - I wondered if this genre had really burnt out...... but no!...... to my delight this is a wonderfully original and flowing compilation.
Getting bored with all too many thoughtless chillout compilations on offer nowadays?.......worry not - BUY THIS!!
Claude "The Master" is back - hurrah!
