This is what all d.j. mix tapes/cds should be like. You get all that you would expect from Dan with tracks from Deltron 3030 (feat Del tha funkky homosapien), Gorillaz and De La Soul, but midway along he kills you with a smooth mix of Air and Zero 7. I wasn't expecting this and it blew me away. These two tracks and the following ones by tourtise and doves would make this cd worth the price but you also get all the hip hop as well!! Definitely the best mix cd of the year and close to my best buy of 2002. (I also got Felix Da Housecat on same day and it was almost as good - but not quite!).
All I can say is that you should get this today!

I will have to agree and disagree with the previous post. Yes, it is a Mixtape, but about half of these were Automator productions or remixes to begin with. Anyone vaguely familiar with Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, knows that he has been involved in many of these projects. Formed Deltron 3030 with MC "Del tha Funkee Homosapien" and turntablist "Kid Koala"; Started Gorillaz with Blur's "Damon Albarn"; formed Lovage with the demented genius "Mike Patton" and the sexy "Jennifer Charles"...among many other projects that you may or may not be familiar with (but should give a listen to).

Not only is this a melting pot of Hip-Hop/Electronic/Funky/Sci-Fi/Down Tempo/Porn/Psychedelic tunes, but a testimony of his involvements and eclectic taste in music. So as both a "mixtape" and a "compilation" of his work, this is highly recommendable to anybody who would like to take a tour in this man's musical world.

this album is soooooooo amazin! ive never heard of it before until i came on here and downloaded the preview and immediately i was hooked and so the next day i bought the album. it is such a wicked album - mixing cool chill out tunes(especially that air tune-sick!) with wicked hip hop tunes and even throws in a couple of cool scratch tunes.my fav track has to be smoothness-black rob which is a cool hip hop tune but i didnt like the zero 7 song (a bit too slow for my liking) but the rest is as equally amazing. if ur into cool chill out tunes aswell as hip hop groups then this album is definately for you, and if not then its still for you

It's a good album but it is just a mixtape. Sombody playing other people's music. Don't want to start a religious war here but if you are expecting something along the DJ Shadow lines then this is not for you. But it is a good album.
