Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott releases her first song since the death of friend Aaliyah and does so with style. Her recent contributions to stars like Janet Jackson & Ja Rule's work only solidifys her further as the queen of Hip-Hop. This song, lifted from the album "...So Addictive" is possibly her best work to date.
It grabs the purpose of the album, an anti-drug hip-hop masterpiece and places its message at the front line, with a beat lifted straight from the ecstasy hip-house era. Its loop is, in fact, very addicted, and puts "Get Ur Freak On" in the dark.
But this is not commercially accessible and may not appeal to all. If you are a die hard Missy Fan, then this is a must for you. It is worth it for the "Basement Jaxx remix" alone!!
And the front cover says it all. A take on the american flag, following the tragedies of Aaliyah and September 11th, both within weeks of each other, is perfectly fitting as she gives a song back, a song 4 her people!

Missy's back. After a short break since her last single ' one minuite man' Missy hits back with '4 my people' which is, in my opinion, one of the best Missy songs i've ever heard because of her great singing and rapping and of cause the ever catchy chorus and tune.
Basement jaxx give this song a new leace of life- the remix is better than the original.
If you are looking for something to get the party started buy it!
i'm sure her people are impressed!
