5.0 out of 5 stars fresh alternative in tight trousers, 25 Sep 2001

This review is from: Heaven Ain't Happenin' (Audio CD)
Heavin aint Happenin came in to my posession within minutes of The Lapse finishing their set in Southampton last year. They come on like the Strokes meet Pavement by way of They might be Giants. The opening 'Buffet' somes up modern living beautifully in the study of the contents of our fridges and larders. What took Radiohead the whole of OK Computer to emphasize is conveyed in one song about our life with mustards and party dips. "I dare you! Walk away from Buffet"
Other stand out tracks include Basilico Basillica a duet with the lead singers japenese girlfriend and the second track is an ode to ex girlfriends (all of them, named, in chronoogical order)
If you like imaginative, guitar led wonderful indie music then I seriously recommend this to you. They were doing this way before the Strokes and do it better than Pavement, so give it a go.
