This review is from: Apathy and Exhaustion (Audio CD)
This a damn fine album. It's hard to tell at first if you've bought a split CD as there are two types of music these guys play. 1 is the melodic emoish songs, and 2 are the nice scratchy punky tunes. Together it creats a well varied work of art that wont bore you as all the songs are so different. If you're into this sort of music, this is the cd for u!

Some very good, some average, but none bad on the third album of The Lawrence Arms, a three-handed punk rock outfit from Chicago now part of the punk specialist stable of Fat Wreck Chords. Going since 1999, they have made in total 5 albums and spend a lot of time on the road touring with such groups as Teenage Bottlerockets and other noted melodic punk rock bands.

The really good tracks are "The First Eviction Service", "Your Gravest Words", "I'll Take What's In The Box Monty", and "Right As Rain - Pt 2", saving, in my opinion the best till last "Abracadaver". Unfortunately the other tracks are not quite as good, and that is not saying that they are not worth listening to, quite the contrary, but they do not grab your attention as those highlighted above do.

I went into a music store and this album was playing. On the strength of the 3 tracks that I heard I bought this album. It is the best music purcahse I have made in the last 12 months and I then followed it up with all their other albums and am still not disapointed.
Their music ranges from very soothing to quite harsh but it all balances out to a senstaional overall listening experience. If you like The Hives or The Strokes then you should really consider this album
