This set has it all, the film itself ( of course ! ) followed by a sheer mass of trivia and information satisfying the hungriest of those searching for the "how did they" and the "is that possible" brigade. Some DVD featurettes just patronise, whereas this one, from start to finish does exactly what it says on the tin. Without doubt, this is the best DVD set I have ever bought from this or any other supplier, so, if you like The Matrix, and if you are curious as to how the whole thing fits together, or even if you just want the highest quality picture on screen & sound in your lugholes, then buy this pack, its the best few quid you'll spend in 2002 ! Even if you're not a big fan of science fiction, this is an absolute must-have DVD for all film fans.
The Matrix will certianly go down as one of the great films of the 90's. Although many of the special effects have been copied by subsequent films, remember that this was the original, and this great DVD leaves you with that same feeling you had after you left the cinema; with your bottom jaw on the floor!
Brilliant extras, worth the price alone.

The Wachowski brothers brilliant progressive and forward thinking film takes a no holds barred look into the future and drags the viewer with it on a rollercoaster of astonishing ideas and breathtaking special effects.
Keanu Reaves plays the lead role of Neo, alias Mr. Tom Anderson, and though his acting is not the brightest thing in this film, his look is perfect and the style and screen present he exudes makes the viewer believe he can really do the fantastical.
The rest of the cast are superb, the story is thought provoking and the cgi stunning. This is a definate classic and one of the best films of the modern cinema, if not of all time.
If you do not own this film, then buy it, if you own it then buy the collectors edition. If you have all the Matrix films, well, simply enjoy.

The Matrix will be remembered for decades. This double pack with the Matrix revisited really and truly should simply be a two disc set under the name of the film.
Unfortunately with the Matrix Reloaded DVD it did have two discs but they shouldn't have bothered. They should have taken notes from thos Lord of the Rings guys.

That being said you get a great deal of info about the movie in this double pack. If you don't already have Revisited then buy this. Even if you have the Matrix on DVD from the initial release, this is still worth the money.

In 1999, the Wachowski brothers not only started a revolution of special effects, the created a truly unique and realistic vision of our planet's fate if we treated machines badly. This excellently packaged edition contains the superb first movie, with a bonus disc documentary, the matrix revisited. Covering every aspect of the production, the bullet time, Kung Fu, Visuals, and story, it is a must have for every movie fan.

It's sci-fi but it's actually very origional, mixing virtual reality with a bit of platonic theory (allegory of the cave) and it will probably bring back memories of every sci-fi movie you've ever seen. The production is of course amazing and in no way reeks of the 90s. This film was hugely ahead of it's time. After watching you'll feel enlightend and if you're anything like me you'll watch it again and again.

Whilst you watch these two decent films (the first the superior) you'll appreciate the fantastically intresting world you're entering. Small things like a glitch in the matrix programme makes fabricated 'reality' repeat itself.

If teaching or doing media studies or any other analysis of film/camera work, this is a must. Apart from it being a brilliant film anyway, there is so much that you can choose to analyse from a production point of view: camera use and angles, mise-en-scene, representation and so on..and so on.. Especially good for teaching GCSE Media Studies.

already having a copy of the matrix on dvd, i was wondering what does this new 2-disc version have.
well i soon found out every thing i ever wanted to know about the matrix and many things conected with it. the dvd has many, many extras including talks with the cast, carrie anne moss, keanu reeves and laurence fishborn. it also includes many t.v specials including a brilliant production by HBO. it includes documentrys such as "what is bullet time?" a fasinating showing of how the film made the mind-boggiling special effects. all in all this is a great product

The matrix was un-doubtedly one of the best films of all time and this collection really enhances it's experience. The interviews and behind the scenes looks are great and it's all packaged in a nice bundle. The only quarrel i have is over the fact that the film is in widescreen and for me (i don't have a widescreen tv) this spoilt the film somewhat. However even if you have the matrix on video or even on dvd this set is worth getting because the variety of extras will keep you watching again and again.
