4.0 out of 5 stars other-worldly pop, 29 Mar 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Alien (Audio CD)
Nerina Pallot's second UK single, "Alien" is a sparkling piece of pop which disguises the fact that this song is in fact about the idea of being an outcast within society. The striking thing about Pallot is her extraordinarily strong voice (as showcased on her debut album, Dear Frustrated Superstar) and indeed her songwriting ability which marks her out as truly a talent to watch in future.
Talent remains evident on the two previously unreleased B-Sides, "Girl From Lakeville" and "57 Flavours" both of which are as good as the single's title track and are a taster of the mix of songs Pallot is capable of.
Couple this with an intriguing video, and you've got a great value package and an excellent introduction to this new British female singer-songwriter to listen to while you wait for the imminent re-issue of the album. If you've already discovered the album and haven't got this, then stop reading and buy it now!
