In spite of three very watchable actors, shed loads of explosions, a huge budget, the producers should be ashamed of themselves for foisting an implausible, contradictory plot on the viewer. Utter twaddle! Jackman, a terrific actor must be cringing with embarrassment at playing such a dope in this truly terrible movie. (Only one instances of many: Jackman runs from police pointing guns at him, a huge chase ensues where they plummet down an almost vertical drop of 200 feet, they all get up unscathed and Jackman, under the very same circumstances he ran from initially, GIVES HIMSELF UP! So now they all have a little chat and Jackman WALKS AWAY! Complete and utter tosh! And actually I didn't think it was very good.)

Let's get the obvious stuff out of the way first - Halle Berry topless, big explosions and special effects, War on terror.
That done, it needs to be said that this is a darned good film. An intelligent action film. I'd put it in the "Fight club" genre, but not quite as brilliant or clever, so "Swordfish" gets 4 stars not five.
The Image, concept and photography are very well thought out, as are the stunts. If only James Bond films could be this good these days! It's an audio-visual feast: Get that AV amp dusted off!
But it's not all gloss, action and mind-blowing special effects. The plot takes twists and turns (especially in the middle of the film, where they're really effective), and you have to be awake to follow it - it's no "Die Hard" (where you can sleep through part of it, and still know what's happening).
The penultimate scene is definitely not one to be missed if you're an action fan - I can't really say what they've done to make it so impressive (I don't want to spoil it for you!), but it's just awesome.
Great thing is, you cannot be sure you know whats-what during the film. It's only at the end where you know the score. A definite must-watch.

Swordfish is a film that is pretty clever when you access what's going on, but somewhere in all this is a story that is almost contrived and it suffers for that, Travolta isn't great here, is something i must say but the movie is saved by some great explosions and scenes and at times the script is razor sharp.
Corruption, kidnapping, double crossing, good guys going undercover and computer hacking are hardly new territories but this is pretty stylish and the overall cast is strong enough to save this from turkey heaven.Worth a watch.

Didn't realise that it was not playable in UK! I should have read the small print! Or more relevant it should not have been sold in the UK
