5.0 out of 5 stars still brilliant after all these years, 2 Dec 2001

another amazing set of tunes from the man that would be Dylan if he wasn't always so broken hearted. Listening to this beautiful collection of lost songs I am consistently amazed that a) Lloyd is not a massive star in Euroupe, and b) he is still able to write with such wit, charm and self-effacing beauty.
I have not a bad word to say about this record and would love to see Lloyd back on TOTP singing 'Another Lover'.
You really should hear this wonderful record.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff, 27 Mar 2002

Always knew he was up to something in all those years between Love Story and The Negatives. A mix of songs and instrumental passages, and a real treat for those starved of new material. Hearing these at a recent acoustic show emphasised how good these songs were. Best song here is 'Another Lover', simple 12 string riff, great lyrics. 'Old Enough to Know Better' runs it close, and the beautiful demo of 'Fool You Are' is so much better than the recent version tacke on to 'The Collection'. You get the impression Cole fans will love it, no one else will be aware of it. Their loss.

4.0 out of 5 stars king cole, 13 Nov 2001

it has always amazed me that the commotions weren't bigger than they actually were - young, good looking and a truckload of great tunes. 12 years on and their front man can still boast all of the above. Sharp, witty, insightful - all sang to the type of tunes that you cannot sit still to. Put this on the cd player, open a bottle of red and look forward to cold, dark nights indoors . . .
