This film follows a nurse who finds herself fostering then adopting an abandoned baby - Annie, on her ward with HIV.
On the baby's second birthday her birth mother gets back in contact and eventually wins a custody battle which breaks the nurse's heart as she knows the best place for annie is with her at her home.
...The film is emotional and heartwarming, I must have seen it thirty times! Get the tissues ready.

Sissy spacek plays a nurse who adopts an abondoned HIV positive baby after forming a special bond with her but then is left distraught when the baby's former drug addict mother shows up,deciding that she wants her back..
I didnt think i would like this,it sounded quite depressing & yes it is a sad tale but i was pleasantly suprised at how good it was.The performances are so moving- i was especially impressed with Mary louise parker, she is so convincing & does a great job of making the viewer go from disliking her character to warming to her & liking her.By the end of the movie i was very choked up!
I wasnt too impressed with the actual dvd however as it had no end credits- the screen goes black for awhile & then back to menu! Has anyone had this same problem or is mine just faulty?!

A drama of moments of sadness and happiness.
A baby that has been thought to have had HIV has been abandoned until a woman finds a place in her heart for the baby(annie) and decides to take her in as part of her family. Later on Annies mom returns wanting her..
and the story continues from there.
A must see for any drama fan.
