Listened to the CD before I even saw the film. Really moving, evocative, fun, catchy soundtrack which only gets better once you've seen the film.
Don't worry about seeing the film, this is sooo worth it on it's own.

Everybody who watched "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain" has expressed the same enthusiasm for its gorgeous soundtrack, which uses compositions from the french musician Yann Tiersen. Eclectic, experimental and exploding with kindness and humanity, this album offers to its listeners the chance to rediscover or remember scenes from Amelie's adventures in Montmartre or in other Paris neighborhoods.

If I did like the soundtrack, I was a little disappointed that the album didn't had that wonderful melody where , in the tape Amelie's Neighbor watches, he sees a horse jumping over a fence and running among the Tour de France competitors. It was a piano melody that I really loved and wished to listen in this album.

Nevertheless, I still loved this album's melodies, such as La Noyee, Le Banquet, Comptine d'un Autre Apres-midi and A Quai, and LA Valse d"Amelie, both in orchestral and piano versions, and recommend everybody to discover this soundtrack, even if you are not a fan of the movie.

Very nice cd, that brings many pleasant memories of the film. It captures the spirit of France and "paints" a musical landscape of France with the small villages, cabares, cafes and much much more.

This is a beautiful album of entrancing music, played on quirky instruments (toy piano?!) as well as regular strings, accordion, harpsichord and so on. The tunes and arrangements are often funny yet bittersweet, and capture the atmosphere of the film perfectly.

I wasn't familiar with Yann Tiersen's music until I watched "Amelie", and I regret not having found it sooner. Buy this CD, you'll love it. I'm off to explore his other albums.

I have loved the movie since it was released, and also the music. I have since purchased a number of Yann Tiersen's albums, and many of them have expanded versions of the music from the film, some with added lyrics. The soundtrack is a collection of the basic music tracks, and evoke whimsical memories of the film. If you loved the film, then get this album, then build on it with his other albums ..... delightful tunes in all!

This is a real grower. Initially I thought every track sounded the same but after two or three listens I'm hooked.
If you like the work of Michael Nyman and The Divine Comedy in their early days, then this one's for you.

If like me you found the film enchanting, quirky, funny, transfixing and oh so very French you may or may not have considered the score by Yann Tiersen to be fairly central to it. Having bought it and listened to it several times. I now do. It takes me back to certain scenes with the 'chuff' of an accordian - ooh la la!
