Interesting collection of Sibelius tone poems performed with clarity and tact by the Stockholm Philharmonic under conductor Andrew Davis. I particularly like this form of composition and Sibelius' contribution to the form - the Swan Of Tuonela in particular. These works are often bundled onto other discs to add variety or counterpoint to a longer symphonic work but here they sit side by side, comfortably or not depending on your mood and taste. This is a good collection of these shorter pieces, though, some of Sibelius' best and most accessible work.
