An album not only as it says (for the late nights when you get home at 5 in the morning) but also for the summer.
The intro is almost straight out of a blaxploitation flick, and then it follows up with the funky drums and trumpets of "copenhagen claimin respect" track which sets your mood straight up into the "feeling good zone".
Tracks like "take ya time" are like powerfully romantic dance injections direct to the heart, with the funky hip hop break complemented beautfully by the trumpet ensemble sample from Shirley Basseys' cover of The Doors "light my fire".
The final track is the best cover i've heard of The Mamas and the Papas "california dreamin" if not better. Jose Felicianos' voice almost makes you cry it oozes so much romance and soul backed by his hispanic guitar and soft string section.
Buy it if you know what funky is about!

This is an EXCELLENT collection of tunes from top drawer GrandCentral duo Rae and Christian. It's chilled but always upbeat, energized but never manic. It's eclectic but stays focused, it's 100% funky with a little pinch of latino to take you home. Fantastico! Don't think - Buy! Buy Buy

Really enjoy this album, lots of cool tracks across a few genres that work well and blend into eachother just hw they should. Well thought through and produced to be a fine compilation that is one you can stick on anytime of the day or night again and again.

This is a true collection of funky grooves and compliments the other titles already in this collection. Rae and Christian provide some real class tracks ranging from hip hop, soul, disco and finish with a brilliant track from the one and only Jose Feliciano.
Thanks Rae and Christian for providing another funky late night.

This has the power to make you believe you have been locked in a room with a projector showing old promotional clips for JCB diggers while a cat on Temazepan sneaks between your feet with a selection of bayonet mount lightbulbs.
Epic push and shunt, followed by bumpy sled rides down somebody elses mountain, for free. No complaints here. Stands back to back against all the Back to Mines and hogs all the flashbulbs and lenses before the big fight. Sinuous, hip, very funky, and mixed to within an inch of it's all too short life.

A nice late night blend. The usual standard you come to expect from R&C. Well chosen tracks nicely mixed and worth buying.

The album is bloody well excellent.
(...)
This is a musical journey and should be considered as such. It takes you from old skool soul to Patrick Morre, soul to the obscure, dub to rap; that's what the "Back to Mine Series" are meant to do. They also show us (...) how music has influenced the artists in their musical styles and the selections on the album.
This is a truly wonderful musical journey. Buy it- you won't be disappointed. Whatever your musical tastes are, it will more than cover them. Adequately.

This album can't make up it's mind what it want's to be.
It' seems to be a mixture of samples for classic 70's funk/disco tracks with elements of hip-hop and dance which is held together with pieces of music from what sounds like the BBC Radio Orchestra conducted by Ronnie Hazelhurst.
With imaginatively titled songs including "I Pink I'm Going Crazy" and "Strudel Strut" this is definitely late night music for either chilling to with a nice whisky, or in your car on the way home from a good evening out.
The album also features a clever reworking of the 70's classic "California Dreaming" The album is very smooth and is worth a listen.
