This review is from: Premonition (Audio CD)
This was the second Survivor album and though it didn't exactly set the world alight at the time, it's a solid and memorable collection well worth adding to your collection. In my humble opinion Dave Bickler was the best lead singer the band ever had and after they sacked him (apparently Dave suffered with stage fright) they were never quite the same afterwards (even if they were more successful). All the tracks on this album are great. 'Poor Mans Son' a top 40 hit in the U.S at the time is typical of the whole album, rocky, melodic, catchy without being pop and with some great Bickler vocals. Also especially good are 'Take You On A Saturday' and 'Heart's A Lonely Hunter'. My only quibble with this release is that there are no extra tracks. This means that as a straight 8 track album the running time is pretty short. Still better quality than quantity eh?
