5.0 out of 5 stars My Only Hope, My Only Solution is a..., 13 Sep 2009

Kreator; the German Thrash Metal legends responsible for `Pleasure to Kill,' and `Extreme Aggression,' have another title to add to their list of classic albums. 2001's `Violent Revolution,' is unquestionably one of the best metal albums of the decade.
This is one of the slickest, most well written and above all catchiest albums in the pantheon of metal. The riffs are memorable, the solos are impressive and the drumming is fantastic, if ever an album was to be described as rock solid, this is it.
Mille's vocals greatly improved with this album, mixing what he had added on the bands more experimental 90's music with his ferocious 80s roots to create a new vocal style he would continue to use on the absolutely fantastic `Enemy of God,' and `Hordes of Chaos,' albums.
The production is top notch, with a great smooth guitar sound and punchy kick drum, perfect for all the double kick drum patterns and dual harmony guitars.
The title track `Violent Revolution,' is by now a classic, and one of the best songs the band ever released and then on top of that songs like the awesome `Reconquering the Throne,' and the very catchy `Servant in Heaven King in Hell,' fill the album out perfectly with no lull in top quality music.
If you like Kreator at all, then Violent Revolution will become one of your favorite albums pefore the disc finishes spinning, its really that good. Many Thrash bands are returning to heavier music these days, but few have done so quite as successfully as Kreator.

5.0 out of 5 stars German thrash metal at its best!, 23 Feb 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Violent Revolution (Audio CD)
I bought this album after hearing the title track. And I'm glad I did! This is one of the best thrash/speed metal albums I've ever heard. If you like bands such as Slayer, Sepultura and fellow country men Sodom, you'll love this.
Every song is good with the possible exception of Replicas of Life which I find a bit too slow for my liking.
I'd say the best songs are Reconquering the Throne, Violent Revolution and All of the same Blood.
If you like your music fast and heavy, or if your looking for a cure to all these pop-metal bands such as Linkin Park, I advise you to buy this now.

Glad that Kreator are churning out fast decent music that there were doing 25 years ago.
Back to basics with a proven formula and you can not go wrong.
All the songs are decent and ball ripping and Mille et al sound just as good as they always did, although a bit more polished than all those years ago.

They may not have invented metal or any metal sub-genre in particular, but this is one of the best metal albums of all time, and violent revolution is one of the best metal songs of all time.

5.0 out of 5 stars This one is truely going back to the old days!, 20 Dec 2001

From the cover it is apparent that Kreator were planning to return to their roots. Its so heavy in parts, but I also feel that they could have left out some of the cheesy melodies, that ruin this album, and make it a techinical masterpeice. Slight contradiction there, but its what I feel. I have the limited package, and its definetly worth having for its bonus tracks, and a fancy case comes as standard with these limited packages. It is not their best, but worth owning thats for sure. My only hope my only solution, is a Violent Revloution!
