This is such a funny film and I can't believe I'd never heard of it before! Yes, it is about homosexuality, but don't be misled. It pulls on all of the stereotypes of homosexuality concerning male and female stereotypes. It does it so well and the cheesey music makes it even wittier!
The casting is good, with the fantastic Eddie Cibrian (Cole from Sunset Beach), Cathy Moriarty, RuPaul, Clea DuVall, and Melanie Lynskey from Heavenly Creatures, that was a good touch!!! And many more, they all do so well and play their parts to the max their characters can go - which is far!
I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is intolerant of homosexuality because you need to be able to make light of it to be able to enjoy and appreciate the film. I have managed to convince friends to buy it since I did and they all love it. This film is my new phase!
I think it was made a little before its time. being released around now, it may have received more publicity. Regardless, it is definately worth buying, and I welcome people to challenge me otherwise!!!

this film is excellent for many different reasons . It's clever without being prententious , artistic without being boring , camp withour being embarrassing , but most of all its a bloody good laugh . It manages to portray homosexuality without worrying about being politically correct . The stereotyped characters could never be veiwed as poking fun at homosexuality because what the film shows is the ridiculous attitudes people have towards sexuality . Both the acting and film making are superb , this definatley ought to become a cult classic .

Both gay and straight stereotypes are lampooned in this joyous comedy with a rock hard centre. The simulation scenes are hysterical (blink and you'll miss the 'Charlie's Angels' moment) and there's a delightful soundtrack. How I wish I could get hold of 'The Swisher' by Summer's Eve! Beautiful acting, by turns OTT ('Andre', particularly) and utterly believeable (the wonderful Clea Duvall) adds to a remarkable acheivement. A joyful yet moving movie.

Came across this almost by accident and even though its a bit "American humour", im really glad I saw it. Bout time for a re-run I think.
Interesting to see RuPaul as a bloke and very Waters Divine era. It just made me smile all the way through. Must watch for everyone with a 14year old daughter, or even son.
Not enough films as dumb as this that are as good as this. Not High Art but 5Stars non the less

This is a fantastic film - superbly acted, feel-good and funny. A real insight into coming to terms with sexuality. It is fabulously camp but also sensitively addresses the issue of lead character Megan (played by Natasha Lyonne) coming to terms with her sexuality. If you enjoyed Romy and Michelle's Highschool Reunion, Clueless, Hairspray, Bring it On etc then this film is for you. However if you want to watch a film about cheerleading then just stick to Bring it On and dont bother with this one.

Its funny but not hilarious! For some reason I thought it was going to be way funnier but it just wasnt! Im a huge Clea DuVall fan, so of course I was going to like it anyway, worth a watch for sure but I'm pretty sure it will be collecting dust on my DVD shelves for the next few years before it gets a second watch!

A very, very unexpected treat. It doesn't take itself too seriously, although dealing with some deep issues, the pace is always lively and quick, and there are some truly laugh-out-loud moments. I was expecting this to be 'just another teen-movie', but instead I found something that was much funnier and engrossing. Highly recommended!

The movie was very funny and touching because it was a comedy but also a love story, but it wasn't your julie roberts kind of romantic comedy where everything is predictable from just reading the title. It handles the subject of sexuality very well and seriuosly yet never really over emphasising on homosexuality and suffocates you on it. It is entertaining and amusing and an enchanting love story. Although the movie is overall a comdey and makes you laugh through out the film it does make you think about the fact that those places really exist and how people even though knowing better will still try to be normal for the sake of others and themselves. But it gives you a sense of what it means to be gay and proud. If you can't laugh at the story line then the music is sure to at least raise a smile. The best part of the movie i think was when she realise her true sexuality. A romantic comedy without the ott juile roberts factor.

An absolute LGBT classic. The tongue-in-cheek humour is me to a t. I can't recommend this film enough and every time I watch it I notice some new little thing to find amusing. It's really cleverly staged and for anyone that likes to laugh at stereotypes it'll be a winner.

I'd seen a clip of this film way back when and finally decided to buy it. Few familiar faces, but a great satirical look at anti-homosexual organisations. I really enjoyed it, was a great laugh and tongue in cheek. Recommend it for when your not feeling very serious!
