5.0 out of 5 stars this is not a balanced review, 5 Nov 2003
This review is from: Thelema (Audio CD)
The last studio recordings from the drunken rock-n-spooky brilliance-machine that was the Murder City Devils. If you're thinking about getting it, get it. Excellent production. the songs being a progression from In Name and Blood, which you loved. The general atmosphere of doom, heartbreak and joy. Ah, devils.

I bought this mini album after seeing the devils supporting at the drive in a while back.i would have to say that this cd is adequate, but never really picks up a climax, apart from the last song "364 days" an emotional song about old saint nicholaus that never fails in bringing a tear to my eye. elsewhere on the album you can find many atdi inspired guitar riffs, and angst ridden vocals throughout. for a new listener of rage punk, this cd may take a while of getting used to, but perservire as it has many high points. i just feel its missing something that could take this band from good to great.
