The End of St Petersburg (Russian: Êîíåö Ñàíêò-Ïåòåðáóðãà, Konets Sankt-Peterburga) is a 1927 silent film directed by Vsevolod Pudovkin and produced by Mezhrabpom. Commissioned to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the October Revolution, The End of St Petersburg was to be Pudovkin's most famous film and secured his place as one of the foremost Soviet montage film directors.

This film is brilliant if you loved Battleship Potemkin you will like this very much

A down-to-earth tale of the Russian uprising. Well-filmed, excellent direction. with an air of Bolshevism shining through. Good print. Enjoyed it.

again four stars for a five star film aye bought this film because of it,s director and also in a book aye came across in the local library as you do, stranger still aye was still in shorts and at primary school and that raised eyebrows with the librarian at the time as aye should be reading books for children and not adult material which it was, even more to the point the book was about the Russian revolution oops eyebrows now off screen any way this film stayed in my head for a long long time till now that is and aye was not disappointed again reading and seeing it in action are quite different, highly recommended to students or anyone who are interested in this subject strange as it may be, it all happened and it,s another piece of history and quite relevant as aye write, you just have to look at the news any way highly recommended for what it is a,piece of historical fact and film, go for it watch and enjoy the film many thanks again thank you

Moments of extreme and unexpected beauty in this film. Wonderful central performance - sadly rather ruined by rather bad Soviet 1970s score.
