5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!!, 1 Oct 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Incomplete Glen Tilbrook (Audio CD)
This solo debut by Glenn Tilbrook (former Squeeze singer) is incredible! It has a fresh, vital sound and spans a wide range of emotions and situations, including a funny account of a Radio 2 interview gone horribly wrong in "Interviewing Randy Newman", and a funky-but-sobering account of a suicide in "One Dark Moment". In between are love songs, bittersweet ("I Won't See You") and happy ("You See Me") and many others gems. This album is proof positive that Tilbrook just gets better and better at his craft. Highly recommended!

brill solo album by a top tunesmith!
glenn has a fantastic puristic voice that sends a shiver up and down as you listen to his self penned tracks
favourite is 'this is where you ain't' although GSOH essential deserves a mention coz of the S-Club 7 reference!

5.0 out of 5 stars The main man on amazing solo form!, 2 Oct 2001

This review is from: Incomplete Glen Tilbrook (Audio CD)
Glenn Tilbrook is one of the best singer songwriters of all time. Has partnership with Chris Difford has led to some of the catchiest modern day classics; 'Up the Junction', 'If It's Love' and 'King George Street' to name but a few. But how would he cope without Diffords influence. Beautifully is the answer. Songs like 'You see me' and 'Interviewing Randy Newman' show the diversity of melodic harmonies through to fast driven rock. Buy this record at it is an exceptional peice of work, and go and see him in concert too as he is as charismatic as ever and their are very few as talented!

5.0 out of 5 stars Glenn Tilbrook is the package., 16 Jan 2002

Not only does he still have the tune-smithing and guitar talent that went far to distinguish his work with Squeze, he also displays a noteworthy lyrical ability (listen to "You See Me" and "Interviewing Randy Newman").
This is a well crafted, wonderfully played and sung, downright affable recording that onlys serves to add to his musical legacy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook, 4 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Another great album from an under rated artist/song writer and guitarist. Songs of different styles of music done with expertise.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant album, 15 April 2008
This review is from: Incomplete Glen Tilbrook (Audio CD)
I was fortunate enough to see Glenn at an acoustic gig just before this album was released. To get an insight into some of the songs from the man himself was fantastic, and the intimate setting of the evening just added to the experience that he was sharing with us. My favourite track, This Is Where You Ain't, was written about his two eldest kids moving to Australia with their mother - I defy anyone not to be touched by the words when you know the inspiration behind them.
Tilbrook is one of our greatest singer/songwriters of the age, and also one of the most unsung. He is close to his best on this album, buy it and enjoy true genius.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is top, 21 Feb 2002

I am relatively new to Tilbrook and Squeeze after having seem him perform an all too brief acoustic set at the CES show in Vegas. I found that the tracks on this album are written with the combination of witty lyrics and tightly produced music one has come to associate with so many Squeeze tracks.
