5.0 out of 5 stars Another Superb Offering From The God Of Gabber......, 23 Oct 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Superpower (Audio CD)
Although seemingly not as 'hardcore' as the previous album, this 'Opus' is well worth the investment. It follows in a much more 'musical' direction, fans of "Psycho Drama" will know what I mean here. There are a lot more influences drawn on from the melodic side of gabber/hardcore techno, especially the recent 'TranceCore' epidemic, this shows clearly on tracks such as "The Dark Station" and "Speed & Distance". Overall, I would definately recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Ultraviolence, as am I. For anyone browsing for new music, this would be an ideal start into the music of Ultraviolence. Although, "Psycho Drama" (by Ultraviolence) still remains the clear favourite of mine :)

4.0 out of 5 stars We don't need Freedom, 23 Aug 2002

This latest album returns to the older recepie that Johnny Violent used for Life of Destructor, and the similarities are clearly audible. Written much more for dance than Psychodrama, and less Hard Core than Killing God you can still hear the lessons that Johnny Violent has learnt through creating the previous albums. The result a classic Happy-Hardcore-toung-in-cheek-Gabba. For fans and newbies alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite album of the year, 16 Dec 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Superpower (Audio CD)
No one can touch Ultraviolence for hard core dance music, as this CD proves. More accessable (maybe) than previous offerings from the industrial techno expert(s), but this just reinforces the point - no one out there can deliver sounds like these, no matter how hard they try. Influences range from classical music to Formula 1, providing an eclectic mix of tracks, of which every one is a winner (I can't pick a favourite). If you've never heard Ultraviolence and you have even a passing interest in intelligent hard core dance music then BUY THIS CD. If you're a long standing Ultraviolence fan, then this will give you the boost you need.

4.0 out of 5 stars Killing The Psycho God Of Super Destructor...(???), 10 Dec 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Superpower (Audio CD)
Another brilliant collection of mind-bending HardCore to blow those comatose brain-cells into the new millenium. Although not as hard and rough as Killing God, Superpower still delivers the noisy, banging stuff we expect from the Violent one.
Superpower (temporarily) returns to the realm of Happy-HC with tracks like Elektra and Sex, which will annoy some of the Gabba-purists at first, bringing them back into line once the album has been heard a few times. The olde-skool Happy-HC blends well into the darker The Dark Train and the PsychoDrama-esque title track, so don't despair!!
Not as good as Killing God, but better the Life Of Destructor and Psychodrama, if only just... whichever of the four you pick, you're in for a brain-beating ride of violence!
Johnny Violent is GOD!

Superpower by Ultraviolence is an excellent follow up CD to the other three CD's by the superb ultraviolence. This CD is especially faster and harder than the previous but not too much so that it becomes unbearable.
track 1:sex is one of the best offerings by ultraviolence,if you loved the previous by Ultraviolence then you will definately love this, its definately worth investing in.
