After first discovering Coldplay in late 1999, Dont Panic was already a favourite of mine, and was to those who had seen them, a highlight of their set. So it seems strange that two years in they choose to release it as a single. And stranger that they believe we have heard enough of them in the UK and so it gets only a commercial release in Europe. This decision made it far more difficult for the real fans of the band to get hold of a copy, causing far more frustration than if they were to release an older record. Nevertheless, the song remains a classic and remains an uplifting opening to the award winning Parachutes LP. Just hope it isnt too long before they get some newer stuff out.

Every time i hear this on the radio it sends shivers down my spine. What a great piece of modern music. I hadn't thought much of Coldplay music to date. This track is of such great musical and written quality. Well done Coldplay. I may even buy the album. I will be purchasing this single. The video is pretty good too !

This single is the first song on the album. It really is an amazing track, as with all the other coldplay tracks on the album. Well done Chris for finally deciding what you wanted to release next and I'm looking forward to the new album!! :)

This must be one of the best tracks by Coldplay, a far better version of the song than the first one, featured on The Blue Room EP. I really can't understand why it hasn't been selected as the first single release from Parachutes, instead of Shiver (a great song on its own merits, by the way - but Don't Panic is far superior, IMHO anyway). But this version of the single - the dutch one - is especially good because of the extra tracks, live versions of Spies, Bigger Stronger and Yellow recorded in Holland. Spies and Bigger Stronger are different from the original versions, and Yellow, as usual, shines. All in all, a great single. Buy it, or at least try to listen to the live versions. You'll sure be pleased!

Coldplay simply is the best band ever. Don't Panic is one of the most interesting songs ever: simple lyrics and a deep music composition. The B side You Only Live Twice is a beautiful song making reference to our dreams and how parallel they can become in our lives. To describe Coldplay just one word: WOW

This is one of the best bands that England has ever produced and with songs like Don't Panic, Yellow and Trouble it isn't hard to see why. Lets just hope that they can keep creating such fantastic singles as Don't Panic and albums like Parachutes, Thank You Coldplay.
