5.0 out of 5 stars Turn the handle and enjoy. A Power-Pop Masterpiece., 12 July 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Behind Closed Doors (Audio CD)
From the wonderful sweeping intro into "What Did You Expect" to the excellent two-tempo finale of "Streetlife Parade" this is a classy album. Forget the New-Mod smokescreen - this is power-pop at its purest. Released as singles the epic "My World" and bouncy "Sound of Confusion" sit nicely alongside the three minute rippers, "I'm A Bullet", "Only Madmen Laugh", the reflective "Life's A Movie Too" and the unconscious poignancy of "When the Show's Over". If you like good melodies, thoughtful lyrics, a smatter of strings and a welter of great sax, Page/Cairns deliver with aplomb...

Great album. Great songs, arrangements and talent. This is ageless music. Secret Affair deserved more recognition. They were truly one of a kind.

5.0 out of 5 stars A BLINDER, the most underated Band and Album of all time., 28 Aug 2001
This review is from: Behind Closed Doors (Audio CD)
If you like your Pop to be tainted by Power then this band and Album are for you, a rare taste of something that "little bit special", forget the 'nEW mOD tAG', listen and enjoy 45 mins of the early 80's best kept Secret, A fine Album and a fine band. Page and Cairn's came up trumps with this one, one for you top draw and many spins on the old Cd player.
