4.0 out of 5 stars Matt Bellamy's classical roots shine through., 18 Jan 2001

This is the first single from Muse's much awaited second album, and if this is anything to go by, it will be a corker. Matt Bellamy's classical upbringing clearly shines through on this rock monster akin to Showbiz on the first album. With an infectious riff which would not be out of place on a Ywengie Malmsteen record (don't let that put you off!), this is Muse as Muse should be: Loud, Catchy and downright sexy.

(REAL NAME)
As you begin to listen to this song you are immediately drawn to the almost classical-style hook that weaves the song into the chorus. Matt Bellamy elegantly sings with the usual angsty passion heard on much of Muse's music and again he doesn't fail to amaze us with the power and range of his voice. Get this even if you didn't like their older stuff or you thought they were too pretentious and Radiohead-like - you'll be converted!!

5.0 out of 5 stars MUSE will be massive on the back of this single., 1 Mar 2001

Plug-in Baby will be a massive hit and make Muse a household name. Rightly so because this is a humdinger, from the power chords at the outset the song never loses its intensity and just builds and builds to a crescendo of which Black Francis and Joey Santiago would be proud (no higher praise than this). This song will get inside your head and will never leave - a most welcome guest indeed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Genius, 4 Feb 2001
By A Customer
This has to be by far the finest song yet by possibly one of the most under-rated groups in the country. It enhances everything that Muse are about and if Plug In Baby is anything to go by, the new album will be the album of the year. Plug In Baby has set the standard of which other bands may find hard to reach.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, 13 Feb 2001
By A Customer
The first time I heard this song I loved it, and thus I recommend this song to anyone, especially anyone who likes Alternative or Indie music. It is a fantastic record which makes previous singles such as Muscle Museum and Unintended look a little less brilliant but still brilliant

5.0 out of 5 stars Muse go from brilliant to best!, 26 Feb 2001

Muse have done it again. Following the landmark album Showbiz and excellent singles like Muscle Museum, Muse have produced a red hot follow up which rocks to the power of ten. The video, shown frequently on Q, is as good as any by the likes of Placebo, JJ72 and Radiohead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!, 18 Mar 2001

This is certainly the best single of the year- it will be the launch pad for Muse to those who are unenlightened at the moment. Typical Muse style - full of energy and power which just makes you want to listen. As good as Muscle Museum & Sunburn - love this!!
