Ok First Things First, Aerosmith are my favourite band... And i love this album! However its not really Aerosmiths style.. I could listen to this album all day! Standout tracks are "Jaded" "Outta Your Head" "Avant Garden" "Face" and "Luv Lies". I love this album but its not Aerosmith... If you like pop/rock buy this album but if you want Aerosmith's Style buy "Pump" "Toys In The Attic" "Rocks" or the New album "Honkin on Bobo" :)

This record marks the band's entry into the new millenium but tries a little too hard to imbue a pseudo-cyber-rock feel to proceedings, which does the band no favours (admittedly it does work fairly well on track 9 'Outta Your Head'...but not so elsewhere). There are a few good songs on the CD - the title track jumps to mind as does 'Jaded' and 'Trip Hoppin'. But the remainder is unfortunately all filler and no manner of production values can hide it...
An album for hardcore Aerosmith fans rather than newcomers...

For those of you who have already bought the 'just push play' album who may wonder about the wiseness of purchasing an imported version of the same cd can rest assured that this will be well worth their money. Aswell as 2 tracks not availible on the uk version of the album 'i dont want to miss a thing' and 'wont let you down' this offering also includes a bonus second c.d of rare live material featuring performances from the late seventies when the band were argubly the biggest rock act on the planet! Aswell as this the c.d contains two booklets with quality pictures of the band and just push play world tour information, unavailible in the uk release!A must have for any aerosmith fan!

I feel I should point out that I'm not the typical Aerosmith in that I prefer Aerosmith's musical output starting from 1989's Pump. In fact I was introduced to Aerosmith through their 1997 masterpiece Nine Lives. As a musician myself I have seen the members of Aerosmith constantly grow as musicians on the more recent albums. The musicianship on this album is no exception. To quote David Fricke in his well-written Rolling Stone review, the whole album features "hop-skip-kick-in-the-groin rhythm that show off the cut-granite funk that Hamilton and Kramer have always brought to the party" and "swaggering bundles of double-guitar muscle [from] Perry and Whitford splitting the air with railroad-spike riffs and throwing lead breaks back and forth like hot coals". I will admit that the production is pretty heavy. Nonetheless, you can't fault production when it is done well and gives the band a contemporay sound. Moreover, the heavy production hasn't returned on the recent 'Music From another Dimension'. The great catalog of music Aerosmith has given us should entitle them to experiment every once in a while. And as I said, I feel the great guitar work and Steven Tyler's always unique vocals make every track on this album worthwile. This isn't 'Rocks' or 'Toys in the Attic', but then these albums didn't boast such outstanding and mature musicianship. It's such a strange concept that many 'loyal' fans expect their favorite band to remain in the same spot through many years of existence. I like to see bands (and their musicians) evolve, and as is the case with Aerosmith, they're all the better for it as far as I'm concerned.
If you like good blues-influenced rock music and are prepared to accept contemporary influences, don't hesitate to buy this album. 13 years down the line I'm still enjoying every listen.

I was very disappointed when i first listened to this CD. Reading the previous reviews i was expecting another album like Nine Lives or Permanent Vacation, but its not. Yes, it does have a few good tracks and yes it does have some very bad tracks, I don't know why people are saying "the best album since pump" because really its not.

This album, despite what everyone else seems to have written is not the splendour that everyone makes it out to be. Don't get me wrong, it has some good, even great, moments, but a lot of it is mediocre over-produced MTV cockrock/ballads with little substance or musical flair they used to be full of. If you're a fan of the band, then go on and buy it, it's quite a departure from the more experimental "Nine Lives" (infinitley better) and if you like their past work, particually post-87 clean-MTV era you should love it. But if this is one of your first aerosmith purchases you could a lot better. There will never be a better 'smith compleation than "Greatest Hits" (38 minutes of pure ectasy) and "Pump" is understandably the critics (if not mine) favourates since their clean up. Just don't buy "Big Ones", it does them no justice. Oh, basically, this album is good but not as great as others seem to be saying. Sorry, guys.

Speaking as a big fan of Aerosmith, this was a huge disappointment. Only 2 songs on the CD are worthy of the Aerosmith name, the rest are completely forgettable. I would only recommend buying it to somebody who wants to complete their Aerosmith CD collection. Push play for Pump, Rocks or Nine Lives instead.

It is not 1973 anymore, and Aerosmith is not a classic rock band anymore. You have every right to be pissed of with the fact that their music has become too commercial, but there is no use in bashing a good pop rock album because of that.

I wish they would rock more, like with Nine Lives that featured some of the heaviest Aerosmith songs ever, but this is how they are working now, and I respect them. So, while not the album I wanted them to release, it is a good album anyway.

this had the huge hit 'jaded' on it. It is the bands most poppy release ever. I do like it and aerosmith can make good pop songs, but I want some harder songs too! This just wasn't as hard as usual. It's not terrible , in fact it's a huge seller and that's a good thing.
