As a long time Cave fan I was eagerly anticipating this release. Sadly it doesn't stand up to the usual quality of the band's material to date. The most noticible difference is Cave's voice which has changed dramatically in the time since his last outing. I hardly recognised him!!!! Musically the single is however up to the bands excellent standard which is it's only saving grace. The two extra tracks are absolutely awful..... Please Nick, can you smoke some more fags to bring your voice back up it's normal menacing growl!!!!

Well, after a long, long wait for new material from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, they've managed to exceed even my high expectations. An excellent song, and the b sides are truly amazing - classic stuff. The best single of 2001 by a long, long way.

one of the best singles i have bought to date, the seeds have really outdone themselves this time and this single would definately encourage me to buy any of their future releases.

A big Bad Seeds fan, I've only listened to it a couple of times so far, but it's already under my skin. While this band never sound particularly 'contemporary' (this is a compliment), this single sounds like their most accessible, yet still uncompromising, work to date. Like Polly Harvey's NY-influenced 'Stories', this is the sound of a band loosened up and letting rip. On Good Good Day, they even sound like they're enjoying themselves. Gloom junkies, approach with caution...
