5.0 out of 5 stars The Times Typing Tutor
The package is easy to install and use - even for a novice. The menus are uncluttered and clear. The difficulty of the lessons increases at a steady rate, which gives you increasing confidence as you progress. At the end of the course, I was able to type proficiently and at a commercially acceptable speed. The games are entertaining and great for kids who regard this as...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
An already intermediate typist, i wanted something that would allow me to practice my skills, at a chosen level and to go over my 'weak keys' in particular. Although i can see this is good for total beginners, there is no option to skip lessons, or to go back to a particular letter. The games are hard to get at, and there is no 'general practice area' (eg story typing...

An already intermediate typist, i wanted something that would allow me to practice my skills, at a chosen level and to go over my 'weak keys' in particular. Although i can see this is good for total beginners, there is no option to skip lessons, or to go back to a particular letter. The games are hard to get at, and there is no 'general practice area' (eg story typing options on other packages'. I was forced, therefore, to start from the very begninning, and laboriously work through each letter, until i got up to the stage i wanted. but then, once i had done the level test, i could not go back to that level again. highly impractical, and i wish i hadn't bought it.

The difficulty of the lessons increases at a steady rate, which gives you increasing confidence as you progress. The games are entertaining and great for kids who regard this as not just another bit of educational software. At such a competitive price, this product is hard to beat.

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Times Typing Tutor (CD-ROM)
I bought this for my son as it had good reviews and was the only programme available aimed at teenagers and adults that did not use the US keyboard or spellings. However, it requires a very old Windows platform and won't run on new PCs. We are trying to find an old computer it can run on . . .
