5.0 out of 5 stars Hardcore but not as we know it..., 29 Mar 2004
This review is from: 10.21 (Audio CD)
Whoever it was that recommended this band to me, god bless them! From the first track I heard I was hooked on these guys. Why? What makes them different? Well I'll tell you. There are many hardcore bands out there that try to give there music an emotional edge, but what you generally end up with is some pussified emo-hardore rubbish that sounds like all the other junk out there. What these guys have managed to do is make music that is brutal, aggressive and complex, while at the same time infusing it with heartfelt emotion and bitter sweet lyrics. Behind each song there is a crunching, chugging guitar riff carrying you along, coupled with the singers screaming which has a real gravely, raw sound to it. But somehow from these powerful sounds, a very beautiful and fragile undertone is present.
On the insturmental tracks, which are all superb, they create amazingly pleasent melodies that just put a smile on your face. This whole album is beautifully crafted from start to finish, stand out tracks include "Nothing" and "Healing Yesteryear". This album is a must for any hardcore/metalcore fan that wants something a bit different.

5.0 out of 5 stars Metalcore at it's absolute finest!, 26 Feb 2001

I waited so long to get my hands on a copy of this cd, after hearing the first album, and i wasn't disappointed, the music is just as skillful and talented as the first time around, and the lead singers voice has developed a little, not that there was much room for improvement! The untitled instrumentals are mellow, but not to the point where u get up and change the track, if you're into skycamefalling, or even if you're not, get this! even if you only buy it for track four('the nothing'), 10.21 is one of the best albums in my collection, apart from the first album(...to forever embrace the sun), oh yeah, and Converge(all of the albums)!
