I bought this for the novelty really and although the sound quality was dated the funny antics of wild and sinclair were worth the watch. Did I really watch this stuff once? Apparently so. Cant say I would indulge again though.

Both have an extravagant lifestyle as millionaires and team up as detectives/agents for 'the good cause' to have a purpose in life (you'll understand this when you watch the first episode on the first volume).

5.0 out of 5 stars Each episode makes me "feel good", every time..., 29 May 2001

The Persuaders: Roger Moore and Tony Curtis, a fantastic team. Shame that the series lasted so short. So there probably won't be too many DVD's in total (I just pre-ordered the 4th volume). Each episode is a blend of Roger Moore's well known "Bond" humor with Tony Curtis's life-style. All DVD's in the Persuaders series come higly recommended. Expect old fashioned good-TV, great (british/undercooled) humor and entertainment, just no special (DVD) effects.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Persuaders Vol 4, 22 July 2001

The Persuaders has got to be one of the best early seventies series. The main actors Roger Moore and Tony Curtis are just right together thay are like chalk and cheese. I have got the videos but the Dvd's are absolutely stunning and are a visual feast for your eyes. What's also good is you get to know behind the scenes information etc on the making of the series and also where they were filmed. The soundtrack unfortunately is mono but the picture quality is excellent. It's nice to see the old favorite british actors and actresses as well in these series. Also the location filming is good you see London as it was then. Can't wait for the other titles to be released.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great collectors item, 26 May 2001

This is another must have for any Persuaders fan, or people who simply enjoy good fun combined with good acting. Why don't they make these kind of series anymore, it would be a sure hit! These four episodes show the progress of the show itself. Moore and Curtis are more comfortable with their role and it shows! With Moore stepping successfully into the directors seat now and then, adds good value to the series. Spending your money on this DVD is surely not a waste! Have fun.

Roger Moore and the late Tony Curtis really do make an excellent team in this action-packed series dating back to 1970.

In my opinion, the episodes have stood the test of time on account of the sheer dynamism shown by these two characters. At least two (if not all 4) of the episodes on the disk, will have you almost on the edge of your seat, such is the suspense!

I love seeing those old cars from a bygone era; also the inside of peoples' homes and the way they dressed and behaved (totally different back then)! Being screened in colour, rather than black and white, actually seems to bring it home more as to how times have changed.

On the downside, the dialogue and facial expressions seem rather stilted and although set in what is now regarded as the day and age of sexual liberation, the way the duo behave towards women, at times, seems frustratingly prudish in the context of today's era. I could well imagine the younger audience totally baffled by their behaviour in this respect!

The positive points, however, far outweigh the negative ones. You really are very unlikely to be disappointed by these strong actors and their exploits! The episodes are very exciting and the 'time-warp' factor does not detract, but adds to it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, 29 Oct 2001

Unbelivable funny! Roger Moore is my preferred actor, and with Tony Curtis made a "fantastic couple". All the episodes are great, and the #6, "Greensleeves", is superb. This DVD is a MUST HAVE!

Classic needs to be remade but doubt the talent out there exists to pull off what Moore and Curtis managed

Pity they don't make series like this any more, light hearted, entertaining series without a hint of political correctness, excellent!
