5.0 out of 5 stars More Hardhouse from Mauro Picotto, 3 Oct 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Mauro Picotto the Album (Audio CD)
This cd is great with even more hardhouse songs from Mauro Picotto. This 2cd special edition is amazing.
Cd1 : Go To Gate (Energy)
The first song lounge starts the cd with a cyber feeling and then mixes into the next song.
The second song Pulsar starts by spelling out Mauro Piccotto name and then the big beat starts then a massive tune kicks in it sounds absolutely amazing.
The third song Komodo (Save a Soul) has a relaxing first half with a gentle beat and chilled vocals and then in the second half of the song goes hardhouse.
The fourth song is like this like that is has a amazing melody and some massive beats. This is one of the best songs on the album.
The fifth song is bug and it has a big bassline and hard beats. It sounds like your in space
The sixth song is planet has a uplifting tune and everlasting beat. this song has a bit of chillout and a lot of hard house.
The seventh song is proximus (medley with Adiemus)
This song has a really amazing tune and some good vocals. I would say this is the best song on the whole album!
The eighth song is lizard and has vocal that are great and a kicking beat.
The ninth song is ultimahora ibiza and is great with a big bassline and a moving tune.
The tenth song is Iguana and this one of Mauro Picotto's greatest songs. This song is mega hardhouse.
The eleventh song is eclectic and opens with a chilled sound and then a fast beat comes in and then a tune and a big beat. Later on in this song a bassline kicks in.
The twelth song Underground doesn't really have a tune in it but does have quite godd vocals in it but I still wouldn't say this is one of mauro picotto best song.
The thirteenth song is pegasus and it a cool tine with a killer beat.
The fourteenth song is baguette and it has loud tune and some massive beats in the background.
Cd2 : V.I.P Lounge (Love)
This cd has a more chilled feel to it.
The first song is Goodbye which a amazing chillout song. This song has good vocals.
The second song is deep blue which the melody is played by a piano.
The third song is legacy with a amazing chilled melody.
The fourth song is get me flying and it has good vocal and a ok beat but i wouldn't say this is his best song.
The fifth song is pacific unplugged and has a good bassline and melody.
The sixth song is little iguana which is a chilled version of Iguana.
The seventh song is come together.
The cd also has two videos which are Komodo (save a soul) and Proximus (medley with Adiemus)
Overall this cd is great so I would buy it if you like this kind of music.

4.0 out of 5 stars The peak of Mr. R.A.F. Zone's career so far, 14 Sep 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Mauro Picotto the Album (Audio CD)
Mauro has been producing dance music for 10 years now, and his experience shows in this, his first album under his own name.
Working with Gianfranco Bortolotti (the creator of Media / BXR records) has proved to be an inspirational decision.
The tracks here are bursting with fierce energy, soaring riffs and an ingenious use of samples.
The obvious highlights are Lizard, Komodo, Pulsar and Like This Like That. However, the true mark of the man lies in his techno based productions.
The tracks Underground, Pegasus, Eclectic and Baguette are adrenalin rushing blasts of sheer energy. These are the tunes you must investigate to find the real Mauro Picotto.
Cd2 is a completely different affair. It is basically an ambient suite, and judging by the lyrics and overall quality of the music, it is clear that Mauro's real talent lies in techno and trance.
I am not saying Cd2 is bad, but it simply does not suit Mauro to make such overtly cheesy "muzik".
Do not let this distract you from the first cd, buy it and you will be glad you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best records I've ever purchased., 21 Feb 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Mauro Picotto the Album (Audio CD)
Since I saw Picotto's though little commerrcial videos 'IGUANA' and 'KOMODO' I've had no doubt about his phenomenon in dance music scene. He's bridged the gap between hard house & trance spiced with dark pounding techno and burst a little of his Italian temper in it. The Lizard Man - a compilation, DJ mix album - a true representation of his artistic and creative persona.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mauro is the new king of trance!, 26 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Mauro Picotto the Album (Audio CD)
What can I say? This album is awesome. I have always been a Mauro fan ever since Lizard and Iguana, and I got his Nucleuz album in the summer, and it was good. But this is better. Mauro manages to mix hard house with trance in a unique way and this album is a must have for fans of each genre. Classic mixes of Lizard and Iguana are in there along with new tracks, and a bonus CD! Every track is brilliant the first time around ant they keep getting better. Check out 'Like this like that' and 'Proximus' with the singing from that old TV add. Top quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Italian maestro at his best, 7 Aug 2001
This review is from: Mauro Picotto the Album (Audio CD)
Mauro Picotto shows with this album his skills of both mixing and producing. This CD is full of true Picotto tunes which appeal to many tastes due to their banging basslines and simple yet addictive melodies with a hint of european spice. The highlights are the well know tunes such as Komodo, Iguana and Lizard, but also the less obvious Ultimahora Ibiza and Pulsar. CD2 is a bit monotonous and at times dull but still good to chill out to. Great for fans of techno, hard house and trance.

THE PERFECTLY CRAFTED SOUNDS, THAT WILL ROCK ANY CLUB ALL NIGHT, THE NAMES OF ALL THE SONGS ARE ALSO QUITE AMUSING BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL NAMED AFTER DIFFERENT TYPES OF REPTILES, IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A CD THAT HAS ALL THE SOUNDS OF A GREAT NIGHT OUT CLUBBING, THIS IS IT.
