5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic collection of the Heartbreakers' music videos.
A great insight into the weird and wonderful world of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. This DVD shows Tom Petty's great talent for story telling and transforming their music and lyrics into almost movie like music videos. Great examples of this, are the likes of Into the great wide open, Mary Janes last dance, Free falling and Yer so bad, to name but a few. It also has...

3.0 out of 5 stars Collected videos of varying interest
This collects videos spanning TP's career with and without the Heartbreakers.
Several are Full Moon Fever tracks.

The early videos are mostly "band plays song". Gradually some higher production values and storyline effort with quirky TP (often top-hatted) humour creeps in culminating in the " after the children watershed" necrophilia tinged...

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic collection of the Heartbreakers' music videos., 8 Sep 2001

It also has the Heartbreakers just purely jammin' it infront of the cameras, showing their extraordinary talent as musicians and performers. A must have for any Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers fan! A truly brilliant compilation of their finest music videos.

I think this DVD is brilliant. There isn't one track that I don't like and I appreciate the way they are presented chronilogically so that there is an added element of engagement in the development of the Heartbreaker's sound over 14 years. The production is faultless and just buy it and turn up the volume. This will be one that you will want to play again and again. It kicks off with my favourite 'Here Comes My Girl' and the closing video with the Kim Basinger corpse bizzarly enhances the quality of the lyric. Normally I prefer 'live' DVDs but this has plenty of buzz.
Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tom Petty At His Best, 8 Sep 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)

The video`s on this excellent DVD range from 1971 to 1993.
It is very interesting to watch how they become more polished over time. For instance " You Got Lucky " is like a mini Mad Max film and " Don`t Come Around Here No More " is similar to a psychadelic Alice In Wonderland.
Also watch out for guest appearances by Faye Dunaway and Johnny Depp on " Into The Great Wide Open " and Kim Basinger on " Mary Jane`s Last Dance ."
As an added bonus you get George Harrison and Ringo Starr ( one half of the Beatles no less )on one of the tracks.

Despite being a fan of Tom Petty for a long time,I had never considered the possibility of there being a decent dvd to purchase and when I saw this one I thought at the price - lets see - and I was not disappointed. Just classic TP and great to see some of the earlier stuff. A no frills dvd concentrating on the man + the music. Superb value - you couldn't get better.

Several are Full Moon Fever tracks.

The early videos are mostly "band plays song". Gradually some higher production values and storyline effort with quirky TP (often top-hatted) humour creeps in culminating in the " after the children watershed" necrophilia tinged Last Dance for Mary Jane starring a youthful Kim Bassinger.
The sound quality is good enough.
I am not a completist as such and bought this partly as a companion piece for the TP Anthology CD set.

3.0 out of 5 stars good selection but showing its age, 19 Oct 2011

The track selection is excellent but both sound and vision is less than brilliant, old recordings have not transferred well, but it's probably good value for the price.
So content is five star but .. .. .. ..
