5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!, 5 Dec 2001

This is a fantastic album. Silverchair have such a different mix of sounds that you find that this album has changed moods several times before you even finish listening to the first CD. Each song is so differnt from the others. It has all their singles on it and much more. For the first week i had this i only listened to CD 1 but now i find that i prefer CD 2. CD 2 has experimental material and the best of the b-sides. They have a great sound and as well as being a rock band they have a beautifully theatrical side to much of their music too. This Best of album shows all the different styles of music that they have had between their first three albums and it is pure bliss. I recomed this to anyone because they produce class material and you will learn to love them.

4.0 out of 5 stars it's all good, 11 Feb 2001

Greatest Hits VOL.1...some say this greatest hits from such a young band is a little premature but it seems to work pretty well...Although i did find that CD1 turns out to be pretty pointless if you own all the previous albums. but it's worth buying even if it's simply for the b-sides and rarities offered on CD2. i couldn't really expect more considering the cd wasn't even endorsed by the band themselves....

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!, 26 Nov 2000

Silverchair may be accused of copying Nirvana but what is seen here is a collection of the highlights from their first three albums. songs like 'sucicidal dream' ooze dark eerieness.. 'Ana's song' is more upbeat. Silverchair rock basically and you need this album.

This is an album, which everyone should own. Silverchair are excellent at what they do and according to me, have produced some of the best music in the world. The lyrics which Daniel Johns writes really touch the listener and make u feel what the song is about. This compilation has brought together some of the best songs, which they have produced and also includes a second Cd with unreleased tracks and B-sides on to give the buyer value for their money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Silverchair Rock!, 28 Jan 2001

They've done it again! This compilation album completely rocks. Anyone who thinks Silverchair is a Nirvana rip-off band is a dick. Nirvana is my favourite band and I love Silverchair, Daniel writes more complicated lyrics and their styles are sooo different... Silverchair are almost unique and this CD is a must have for any fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece from such a young and talented band!, 27 Aug 2002

This review is from: Best Of Volume.1 (Audio CD)
I bought this album not knowing what to expect. I had only heard 1 song by Silverchair and that was Freak. And because that song is one of their heaviest I didn't think i'd like it. After my 1st few listens I was considering taking it back. But then I listened to it a few more times and it grew on me. It is now one of the best cds I have in my collection. Now i am 15 and I play bass guitar, I wish me and my friends could do something like that, but we are not talented enough.
