I've found this filter from Tiffen to be just as good as the more expensive filter that it replaced. I've seen no noticeable drop in image quality with the filter attached and have no complaints about the build quality that some other reviewers have observed. It's pretty much "fit and forget".

All things considered, this is a cost effective way of protecting a far more expensive lens and so is highly recommended.

Lens resolution tests (60 L/mm) with and with out this filter showed no loss when fitted.

These are high quality non coated filters. I think multi coated filters are a better bet for digital cameras - or maybe no filter at all.
It offers protection but the pundits say that an uncoated filter may degrade the image more than a multi coated filter.
Good coated filters can be bought for not much more.

No problems with delivery, fit etc. Seems to perform OK and protects the lens, but the screw thread for adding something like a lens hood is extremely shallow and there's no room to adjust the position of the hood's fins. Their 58mm version does not have this problem, so maybe I just got a bad one!

I bought this to protect my lens, which I imagine it would do just fine, but the image quality of any photos I take through it is noticeably worse, especially on a sunny day where there is significant flare problems. In short, avoid.

Like other customers, I found this to be (a) no lower in quality than higher priced items and (b) did not reduce the quality of images in any way.

An excellent way of prolonging the life of your lenses.

Very good value for money at about £8/£9 compared to about £20 in most high street retailers. Saves my Sony lens from scratches etc and does not distort the picture. Highly recommended.

this is probably old stock but good stock so don't hold your nose up at it for it does the job without the fancy advertising. It is not afake just an alternative.

Can't tell this from far more expensive filters and does reasonable job of filtering out UV. Far cheaper than a new lens, pending accidents!
