5.0 out of 5 stars BLOWN AWAY!!, 4 Dec 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Yours Truly (Audio CD)
After the slight disappointment of Call To Arms SOIA are back with the best material they've ever done.
They've gone for a slightly different approach, mixing the best of the punk style of Call To Arms with the magnificent hardcore blast that was Built To Last, in whatis most definitely one of the albums of the year!
Openeing with Blown Away (and you will be)it gets better and better, moving onto Nails, vaguely reminiscent of Indust of the Just Look Around album. Other highlights include District, America, Turn My Back This Day And Age and Ruin. But surely highlight of the album is Souvenir - and it sure is - with drummer Armand taking up most of the lead vocals on a slightly slower but still energetic and hook laden track that just oozes class.
What more can I say but it's good to see them back on top form and showing the current generation of punk/hardcore bands how it should be done.
If you're newly into punk/hardcore - then buy this album - it's a must for anyone who likes their music loud and full of anger.
Can't wait to hear the new stuff live!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Yet?, 3 Jun 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Yours Truly (Audio CD)
Well SOIA have produced another all time classic new york hardcore album. This one is stacked full of classy hardcore music with only a couple of 'weak' tracks which aren't really that bad just a bit forgetable. They drive their point home in a furious salvo of songs with some becoming instant live antheams, (i should know i've seen them twice this year already) but never lose their trademark sense of humour and justice. As for the guitar work? Well wow will do Pete koller shows other hardcore guatirsts how its done, and lou's vocals getter tighter and more focased every outing. Hardcore don't get much better except perhaps for other SOIA albums!

i was lucky enough to get an advance copy of this album and it rules, hardcore at its best feels like its been ages coming but the wait was most definately worth it, tracks such as america, broke dick and cry for help are the stand out tracks for me...if you feel like you've been in a harcore drought get this....
