4.0 out of 5 stars Classic British Rock 'n' Roll
I bought this DVD about a week ago and wasn't disappointed. It captures Oasis in fantastic form, performing all their classic songs and some newer ones as well. Liam Gallagher, the quintessential Rock 'n' Roll star, is at his swaggering, charismatic best with Noel and Alan White as reliable as ever. The 2 new boys Bell and Archer look right at home in Oasis as well. Every...

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic British Rock 'n' Roll, 7 Nov 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Oasis - Familiar To Millions [DVD] (DVD)
I bought this DVD about a week ago and wasn't disappointed. It captures Oasis in fantastic form, performing all their classic songs and some newer ones as well. Liam Gallagher, the quintessential Rock 'n' Roll star, is at his swaggering, charismatic best with Noel and Alan White as reliable as ever. The 2 new boys Bell and Archer look right at home in Oasis as well. Every song is performed with the famous swagger and confidence of Oasis, with Cigarettes and Alcohol, Roll with it, Champagne Supernova, Live Forever and Acquiesce standing out as phenomenal performances. Every song still sounds as fresh as it did when it was first released, and Dont Look Back in Anger still sends a shiver down the spine. I guarantee you could put this DVD on whatever song and it would make you want to get up, sing along and just generally rock. The show ends on a high note with a classy rendition of Rock 'n' Roll Star, topping off a stunning performance from the finest Rock 'n' Roll band in the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, Oasis just keep getting better and better., 21 Nov 2001

This review is from: Oasis - Familiar To Millions [DVD] (DVD)
This was the first of 2 gigs at Wembley and this was by far the better of the 2. Liam is brilliant and at his best with Noel excellent as well. During the concert footage you get to see lots of all of the band, not just the Gallagher brothers. The extras are great too, the interview with Oasis was my particular favourite. There is a documentray showing the fans before the gig and it just proves how popular Oasis really are.
This is a must for all Oasis fans and even if your not a fan, you will be after you see this.

5.0 out of 5 stars the ultimate concert dvd (so far!!), 24 May 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Oasis - Familiar To Millions [DVD] (DVD)
This is the best music dvd in my collection it has just about everything you could want on oasis and is certainly not another JUST the concert dvd, it includes a complete discography of the band (with soundbites), a back and front stage view of the performance with the band (especially noel & liam's)interactions with both the camera's and more importantly the crowd been quite entertaining in parts.
The sound and picture are excellant and the disc also features various film bites (like people been thrown out of the gig)and is very raw (as you would expect)... the setlist itself is really a showcase of oasis music from 'definately maybe' to 'standing on the shoulders of giants' and all the songs are performed with gusto and are well placed in the list.
If i had one small niggle with the disc itself is that the arrow to move between menu's is very small and is easily missed.
However this is a great disc and easily worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Reminder of a Great Day!, 22 Jun 2004
This review is from: Oasis - Familiar To Millions [DVD] (DVD)
Anyone who was there on the day of recording needs to buy this DVD. I brought it as soon as it came out and watched it twice straight through. The concert was amazing, the band were at their best & the crowd were totally committed to being along for the ride!! The set list probably does favour more of there earlier stuff but there are also a couple of more current songs (Go Let It Out, Gas Panic!) which fit in well with the earlier stuff. This was Oasis showing that they can and do rock! It's a full-on assault on the senses and it proved that these lads who once battered the charts with their music still have the raw passion to carry on. Ends with Rock 'n' Roll Star - which all of us who saw it realised we were watching 5 such stars in front of us!
The extras on the disc are also a great addition rather then just something thrown in. There are the animations that were played at the back during the songs (especially great for the quotes on Live Forever) as well as a great interview and documentary about the band. This is just more of a band that want to give their fans something more then just "the norm". If your an Oasis fan you'll be used to getting the best that Noel & the lads can offer and with this disc your getting just that.
If you were there buy it and remember all that was great... if you weren't buy it and wish you'd been there!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tabs & Ale, 16 Nov 2000
This review is from: Oasis - Familiar To Millions [DVD] (DVD)
Don't let your prejudices put you off this DVD. If OASIS never make another record or go on tour ever again this would be a pretty fine way to remember them by. The footage is grippng and never dull, the in-between banter between the brothers and the crowd is never less than entertaining and the extras on this disc are probably the best since the UNDERWORLD DVD. Oh, and the music is very good. (even the "Giants" stuff).. but you know that. ..Buy it and party like it's 1995. Britpop lives!

5.0 out of 5 stars Madforit!, 16 Oct 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Oasis - Familiar To Millions [DVD] (DVD)
I went to this concert and the saturday one. Liam and Noel were doing what they do best and that's rock'n'roll. Live forever was superb, as was the 'joke' when everyone thought the concert was over. The crowd was unbeleivable to "Don't look back in Anger" and "Chanpagne Supernova". This is a must. areyoumadforit?

5.0 out of 5 stars words cannot describe this, 12 Nov 2000
This review is from: Oasis - Familiar To Millions [DVD] (DVD)
To me, it was the greatest night of my life. Standing in the baking sunshine of wembley stadium, waiting 5 hours for one of the best bands in the world to totally rock my world. And they did it. And they did it spectacuraly well. With the calibre of songs that almost every other band in the world would move mountains for,Oasis are still the best band in Britain. From the totally rocking Supersonic and Acquiesce to the touching Wonderwall and Live forever and to finish off a blinding version of Rock'N'Roll Star. If there's only one thing you do in your life, buy this DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars There back and there better than ever!, 22 Sep 2000
By
A concert where 70,000 people gathered to watch the old members and the new members of oasis take to the stage and it was done with style. Playing all the songs that there known for and all the hits that have just recently blessed are ears. Noel takes to the stage and covers a Neil Young song which will blow you away. Of course liam still stands on that stage and enjoys it just as if he was a fan himself. Gem, Alan and andy play superb together and if there a concert that you want on tape than this is diffently it. Rock'n'Roll back to it's best.

5.0 out of 5 stars wembley has a 5 star send off, 12 Nov 2000
This was truly one of the most magnificent nights seen at this historic venue. Packed to the rafters with die hard fans, all of whom knew every single word to every song (except the neil young one!)Starting off with tracks from the most recent studio album and then taking you through all the favourites of the last 5 years or so. Its no suprise when it gets to wonderwall and don't look back in anger and the audience ends up drowning out the band! yes this was a fitting tribute to wembley from britain's premiere band of the last decade.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best DVD I own!!, 17 Nov 2000
This review is from: Oasis - Familiar To Millions [DVD] (DVD)
If there is one thing you want to show people to show why you like oasis, make sure it's this. The DVD has everything, great picture quality, sound, animation, interactive menus and documentries.
Whenever you click on a link you are played a short random clip (a first in DVD) which makes every viewing different.
The documentries are really well edited and pass in no time as there so good.
You simply must buy this, it's looks and sounds great, especially if you have a home cinema system :-))))
