5.0 out of 5 stars Good Film
"Amityville III" originally titled Amityville 3D, which was originally presented in 3D in the early 80's. Well, the movie was released at a time when "slasher" films where at it's peek e.g. "Halloween", "Friday the 13th" etc. This movie seemed to have been done sometimes during the late 60's. It had no gore at all, and went on like a mystery-investigation thing. The only...

1.0 out of 5 stars Shoddy transfer of a weaker entry in the Amityville franchis
Its Amityville 3D! Only without the 3D, naturally, and a poor transfer to boot. No effort at all has been made to clean up or enhance the film for its DVD debut, resulting in a washed out appearance, and its presented full screen, with awful framing. Despite this, there are a few enjoyable scenes and its fun to see the obvious 3D moments, even if they are now flat. The...

This review is from: Amityville 3 [DVD] [1984] (DVD)
"Amityville III" originally titled Amityville 3D, which was originally presented in 3D in the early 80's. Well, the movie was released at a time when "slasher" films where at it's peek e.g. "Halloween", "Friday the 13th" etc. This movie seemed to have been done sometimes during the late 60's. It had no gore at all, and went on like a mystery-investigation thing. The only basic reason for watching it at that time was for it's great 3D effects.
Now, the problem with this DVD lies in the picture and sound quality, which are very inferior. The colors seem to be washed out, and the sound is rather weak. The movie is quite good, has the right atmosphere for a good old "Haunted House" film & the acting is convincing. I believe that this should be re-released in its original "Widescreen" edition with enhanced sound and picture quality. Recommended.

Despite this, there are a few enjoyable scenes and its fun to see the obvious 3D moments, even if they are now flat. The DVD has no extras apart from scene access. Couldn't they at least have included the trailer? Let's hope for a rerelease at some point, remastered and full aspect.

2.0 out of 5 stars poor release of an average movie, 29 Jan. 2013

I had heard that there was a UK version of this film in 3D and this is not it. Not only is the film in faded 2D, it is a full screen version of the film. Very disappointing. I'm sure there is a good quality 3D release out there but I will have to find it elsewhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars terrible, 5 Oct. 2001
This review is from: Amityville 3 [DVD] [1984] (DVD)
everything about this movie is awful. Just truly truly bad. The picture quality is terrible, the sound is muffled and the story plain atrocious. Hardly any real connection with Amityville at all, just happened to be set there. And when the rubber demon appears - well, i laughed! Please don't waste your money on this one, even the Made for TV movie (no.4) was better. It says Amityville 3-D at the start which obvisouly meant 3 times as Dire!!

2.0 out of 5 stars The Amityville 3 what a big mistake, 22 July 2003
This review is from: Amityville 3 [DVD] [1984] (DVD)
To me The Amityville 3 Has to be the worst Amityville in the collection Because I am a horror finatic and I recently baught a ship load of Horrors including Amityville 1,2,3 and i watched them in that order to. The first one was class the second one was going off the rails a bit then the third one was rubbish because in the first one we find out that the House was built on an indian berrial ground but it is only on the third one when this stoy comes to life in an indian well. Overall the film has no real conection to the first two of the collection therefore making the film rubbish.
