This review is from: Hercules (Video Game)
This game is very much in the vein of the Zelda series. For those of you unfortuant enough never to have played any Zelda games, 'Hercules: Legendary Journeys' contains fighting, but the main game is made up of role play puzzle solving. For those of you turned off by this, do not fear! These puzzles are not the "push this block here, walk on, do it again" type. You may battle some creatures, then enter a village and talk to someone who will mention something in conversation, which will give you the idea to go try something else, or they may give you something which you can trade with someone else for an item you need in your quest. The world Hercules is set in is HUGE, rivalling Zelda worlds! Unlike some platformers this is not a "single-path level". You can wonder about wherever you want and go back and explore places you've already been, indeed, you are occasionally required to. The characters are interesting and humourous, the combat is good, the world is huge and the puzzles are challenging, if a little repetative. Little replay value is contained within. All in all a good game, but beaten hands down by Zelda.
