This album is nothing like Jamie Lidell's later album Multiply, which I loved from the first moment I heard. This has little of the aforementioned's soul influence and is mainly a set of instrumental electro pieces which consist of annoying 'whirr' and 'boink' noises and are mostly unlistenable (which I think may have been Lidell's intention). There are however two noteworthy songs in the form of the excellently malevolent 'Daddy's Car' and 'Droon_99', which reminds me of electric era Miles Davis. If you like SuperCollider I think that you may get alot more out of this album than I did (having said that a friend of mine who is a big fan of SuperCollider couldn't stand this album). Muddlin' Gear is definitely not indicative of Jamie Lidell's later albums
