5.0 out of 5 stars Dexterous, intelligent and strong;how hiphop should be again
I was in France at the high of the "Angela" craze and fell in love with the Crew then and there. Leeroy, Vicelow, Specta, Feniski, Fly le Mic Buddha and Sir Samuel are fantastic and skilled at MCing and human beatboxing, it seems hiphop needs "un peu de" French influence! People are prejudiced against this because they think French music is all Vanessa Paradis and...

3.0 out of 5 stars French hip-hop group
This album from french hip-hop group saian supa crew reflects not only the continuous rise of french hip hop originating out of the urban french ghettos but also shows the uprise of beat boxing in todays hip hop story. Tracks such as pitchy and scratchy reflect the masterful skillz of this crew in their beats skillz which throws threat on the well known skillz of 'the...

People are prejudiced against this because they think French music is all Vanessa Paradis and morose old men with berets and accordions but the songs are so lyrical even if you don't understand them. The celerity and ingenuity of the skits are astounding - beautiful old school beats blended with visionary French verse. The revolution is coming to Britain's shores - Vive le Crew and the renaissance of hiphop!

3.0 out of 5 stars French hip-hop group, 21 July 2001
This review is from: Klr [VINYL] (Vinyl)
This album from french hip-hop group saian supa crew reflects not only the continuous rise of french hip hop originating out of the urban french ghettos but also shows the uprise of beat boxing in todays hip hop story. Tracks such as pitchy and scratchy reflect the masterful skillz of this crew in their beats skillz which throws threat on the well known skillz of 'the roots' in this form of hip hopping. For those who speak french this is a great exploration into the language while at the same time removing the blinkers showing MC Solaar as the one only true french rap artist.

3.0 out of 5 stars HMMMMMMM........., 25 May 2004
This review is from: KLR (Audio CD)
Not overly-impressed by this effort from the sextet that are SSC. Having bought X-Raisons on a recommendation from a mate, I thought this would be another masterful effort when I saw the CD going cheaply. X-Raisons really impressed me with it's musicality and the diversity of rapping styles as well but this is not as impressive. There are some good beats and good rapping but Saian often lose their way. Some tracks start off and you think to yourself 'this is money well spent' only for you to lose interest just half a minute later. The development and progression is often missing from the tracks and some have quite a monotonous feel to them. As always, SSC's rapping skills are there for all to hear but the beats maybe not on this album.
Some may like it but this is not for me. Mach 6 and Cinquieme As have shown that MC Solaar is an artist more capable of sustaining excellent production, lyrics and beats for a long period of time.

this is a great album. some don't like it but just know that there are two versions of this album. one of the versions has more tracks. why they took off some of the best tracks is a mystry to me but look out for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't be put off, 13 July 2000

Don't be put off by the fact that this entire album is in French. Even if you don't catch a word it's well worth a look in. Raz de Maree is superb, Ragots and Soul mwa pas also stand out, but the whole album really is consistantly excellant. Although in French the skits really will be lost on the English speaking world!
